P.S. How does the B&M affect the factory warranty with regards to the tranny?

B&M makes the factory SSK, I can't see how it could affect the warranty as they are exactly the same except color.

 

I agree, but as you know, dealers will do anything to weasel out of a warranty job so this is a great excuse for them as it is still not a factory part.

 

Wish I knew about the special I just ordered a fair amount of stuff from Justin, a SSK would be appropriate to change since I am changing the centre console. But I still haven't driven a car with SSK and not too sure if I want it.

 

I haven't either, but from all the positive responses I hear on forums and the fact that the stock shifter suck, I got nothing to lose!

 

Some dealers will void the transmission warranty with a non-Porsche SSK, even it is B&M. It depends on your dealership. I talked to mine, and they said if you use a non-Porsche SSK then it will void your warranty. I told them that B&M makes the Porsche one and they said that the Porsche one might have been designed by B&M but to Porsche specs, and the B&M one isn't to Porsche specs. So just to forewarn anyone, some dealers might void your transmission warranty.

 

It will be an interesting debate when someone is given a hard time about a B&M shift when Porsche sells the clone.

The difference between the 2 is.....
