Time for plugs on my 99 996 NA car w/ 84,000 miles & no mods.

NGK BKR6EK is what I use on my 99.

my mechanic wants me to use Autolite Double Platinum's?

Anyone have any input on these plugs?

Why not get stock plugs from the dealer? For most things its hard to beat what they put in the car from Porsche....FWIW I could be completely crazy but I would not put Autolites in my Porsche.

For my 2003, I used Bosch FGR5KQE0 plugs and changed them out around 30K miles. I believe the 3.4L engine use another type, though.

I just changed mine. I used the factory Beru plugs. The coil packs are made by Beru. I figured Beru must have some clue. Many others recommend Beru over the other OE supplier (forget brand). I noticed no difference in performance when changing plugs. I have read negative comments about some non-OE plugs whatever that's worth.

Kclipse is an unknown quantity at this point
They make no difference. I got those high-end iridium plugs and I notice absolutely no difference. But on the up-side, the iriduim plugs last longer than anything out there! Just a peace of mind.

I noticed when I changed my plugs from Berus to Bosch my idle was a hell of a lot smoother and the engine was very responsive when coaxed. Never again with Berus.

But Beru's are the factory plug. I have actually read of people having problems with Bosch (4 prong) and going back to factory. Maybe it's just coincidence.

After I installed them, got a prewarm-up miss. The other plugs were smooth worn out (electrode was burned deeply and the ground straps were burned back about 0.125") and didnt miss-fire at all. I dont remember which brand they were, I wish I knew now, will try something else.
