C4S prices VERY close to 996TT prices???
C4S prices VERY close to 996TT prices???
So i am in the process of looking for a new ride....leaning towards a Cayenne S right now but my heart is with a 6mt coupe
I obv love the 996TT and would prefer to get one of those if i could...but it seems that the prices are still in the 58k-65k range...which is out of my reach for now.
However, a very close 2nd on my list is a niiice 2003 C4S...similar miles to 2001 996TT (like 38-45ish) and the prices are only like 5-7k apart?! Is that normal? Is this gap narrowing? Should i get a 03 C4S or go with a little higher mileage TT from 01?
Seems like the 997 and Cayman have messed with these prices a good bit.
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to pick the best car for the best price - and not miss out on an opportunity

my dad has also been seeing the C4S prices and how close they are to the turbo. that's why he's driving around with a BIG grin on his face...but i have to say, the Turbos are great cars...

In all honesty, do what you can to get a 996tt. You will definately be happier in the long run man. As fun as the Cayman is, it's VERY hard to justifiy-- be it that 996tt's are just a few thousand more, or that M3's are about that price (and a bit more practical and comfortable). I drove Drew's M3 (coil-overs, exhaust, SSK) many times, and as FUN as a Cayman/ Cayman S is, the M3 is really just more car.
996tt on the other hand, is essentially fully depreciated. That will offset the warranty, etc of a new Cayman. And they are NO comparison. Both can be had around 55k.
By nature, you are also a mod-friendly guy... there is NO COMPARISON in possibilities when comparing Cayman versus Turbo. I went through this entire thing over the summer while my car was for sale. I couldn't sell my M for a Cayman when push came to shove-- they were wayyyyy to similar. Your EVO will hang with a Cayman all day long. Yes it's new, and yes it's Porsche, but in my opinion, it's not a car to hold onto for a while. That's why I'm waiting till I graduate to pick something up...
... and it will probably have two Turbos and awd.
The choice is obv yours! One thing I UBERHIGHLY suggest is NOT getting a Cayenne. We had one. It was pathetic. Go with a Range if you're looking in SUV territory.
