Turbo bumper DIY -- front wheels come off?

quick question... going to replace my front bumper with a turbo look bumper. i looked at a lot of threads describing how to do it, but none of them mention if front wheels have to come off. knowing that in advance will help me properly position my car in the garage before i start. thanks...

you have to get at the expansion rivets in the wheel wells. It's hard tp get at it with the wheels there, though you can get at it by turning the wheels. If your raising the front its better to just remove them.

I did a fairly detailed DIY awhile back and can find it if your search comes up empty. Raising your front and removing your front wheels will make the install much easier. As redridge mentioned, there are some rivets in the wheel well that you have to remove in order to get at one of the screws. You can do it without removing the wheels but it's much easier without them, especially if it's your first time.

996CABOVA - check out my DIY. You'll need to fabricate some brackets for the bottom unless you buy one off of a 40th Ann model.

hey bobby (or somebody else)... how does the lower lip mount to the bumper? from the looks of it, its just a clip-on with two holes for screws on each side at the very end. i dont have those screws. anybody have a part number for it? thanks...

I think I know which part you're talking about, and I don't think I had the screws (I think they're plastic snaps, right?), just the clip on.

I used regular black electric tape. Spray painting it flat black is another option.

I may be online tomorrow if you want to pm me with questions.
