I've had my 04 C2 Seal Grey for a bout a month, and I already see stone chips in the front bumper. I am not a wealthy person who could just say screw it I'll paint when it gets bad. (I shouldn't even own such an expensive in the first place, but sacrifices have been made for the passion of the Porsche) I am trying not be upset. I am very ****, obsessive, compulsive. Also, when should I first wax it, and what are recommended products. I used the Meguires new car package - Gold class soap, polish and then the gold class wax. Thanks.

Clear bra... the only way to fly. 3000 miles and 0 stone chips here, though the windshield is another story.

Joe,
clear bra aka stone guard. It has saved me already. Since your car only has a few right now I would call Arling's (20C4s) hookup. Arling should be able to give you details.

I just got a seal gray, and had the Xpel 3M clear bra done at my house by a professional installer. It covers the front 1/4 of the hood, the bumper with the two lower lips, and lastly the front of the outside mirrors. I am a little **** and think the price of not worrying about all the little rock chips it is worth it.

Only problem is that somehow the stupid stones find their way and hit your car after where the film ends!! I guess stonechips are unavoidable but can be reduced significantly with the film

I just dodge them on the road... the car handles good enough if you have the skills. Ah, just kidding, Speedlingerie has a nice product or go with the clearbra stuff... I don't like the way these products dull the finish. I just go with the chips and repaint the hood and front spoiler every few years.

I would have to say 3M clear bra is the best solution, I have had my for 4000 miles and have no chips. The film is pretty reliable and they will yellow, especially if you have a white car. My friends white M3 is started to yellow but his film is four years old. You can easily peel if off and replace the film. That way it keeps the paint original and is still cheaper then repaint every few years.
