The state cop from the radar article said it best "If the road was that empty, I wouldn't be patrolling it".

If you want to putz along in the right in your pcar, so be it. I'll be the one whizzing by in the left lane. Just stay out of my way There's nothing unsafe about doing 85-90 on the higway.... It's all about common sense.

FWIW, cops love patrolling roads that are slightly less traveled. One, it makes it easier to pick a car out of traffic. Two, it makes it easier to catch up and pull them over. Three, very dense traffic conditions make it very difficult to speed, thus less violators. A nice stretch of highway with light traffic is a radar shooter's wet dream

Are you kidding me? I got a ticket on the way up to Vegas around 12:00 midnight. There wasn't anyone in front of my for a good 1/2 (maybe more) mile and I was stopped at 95MPH....

No one cop represents all and so Radar is our way of keeping up with those who "play the cat and mouse game".

Better to have a car which is capable of good braking and handling vs. those who shouldn't be going over 80MPH.

I think the point has been missed hear "Government Control", In Scottsdale, AZ they have just installed Photo Radar because of a 5 mile problem area for speeding, but they allowed Photo Radar on all "Interstate Hwys" State wide so looking forward it is another way of generating capital and controlling traffic and sooner or later you will get a ticket where ever they wish even if there is not any traffic like speeed traps. So I guess James Bond flipable licsense plates and hidden Radar is the way to go.

Hey Hey

Hi deputy, yes it has been awhile I needed to focus on my business and as I was doing so along came my donor finally 2000 C2 Blk/Blk full leather with sport suspension a couple weeks ago. It is missing allot of parts DME, Alarm, Key Lock will not turn, Relays etc. It took 3 days to install my engine and just the SC my, mock-up was off just enough so it would not fit. Today it goes up on jack stands to install the water lines and intercooler/Resevoir etc. I am taking pictures but still can not post here which is maddening because of all the help you and others have given me on my direction for my progect. I have been over at Rennlist and RennTech trying to get info on programming my DME/Alarm set that are out of Boxster S along with trying to figure out logistics of getting it tuned Via GIAC and a tuner over here. Glad to see you are still posting and the last pictures of your car got me jealous but also made me motivated, See ya around the watercooler and will post the project in more detail if I can get the pictures uploaded. Oh actually I did post a thread with couple of pictures untill that option stopped working.

Mother, host pictures on a third party website, like imagestation, flickr, or photobucket, and then link to the pics in your thread. I believe one of the mods wrote a tutorial on it a while back.

cool. i'm anxious to see how this project turns out. you should start a whole new thread documenting this project with all your details in the 996 section. if you'd like, i'll hos the pics for you. pm you email adress if you want me to take care of that. i'm sure there would be a lot interest as this is a very unique and daring project.

I am not flaming PTarga at all...but PLEASE...you have to know that statement is completely CRAP.

I would think anyone with any driving experience on the roads...especially someone that does track days...knows that statement by that state cop is utterly and 100% false.

It is all a revenue racket and we know it....why cant people see things for what they are. If there is a problematic stretch of highway the #1 and best way to STOP or MAKE EVERYONE SLOW DOWN is a SIMPLE VISUAL DETERRENT. Park a patrol car by the side of the road...and be done. Everyone will slow down and no problems. But does that grow revenue? NOPE...all it does is solve the "saving lives" part of the equation. We still need to create revenue and write tickets or people will be out of jobs.

I have the pictures on my website and tried linking, but can not be displayed, I think it's because I have a space in the file name. I will figure something out.

Most cities would rather put up signal cameras to drive revenue.... Why wouldn't they dispatch CCTV systems in high traffic areas to capture "real-crime?" ..... It's all about the Benj...

MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY Thats the ONLY reason. Radar detectors allow people to drive like every one else does down here but not get in trouble for it. Im sending my letter today!!!!

I'm not telling everyone to drive the limit, I'm simply saying if you stick to around ten over, the cops will usually leave you alone. I was an avid V1 user, but I just got sick of always looking over my shoulder.

I hope you guys will get your cars out on the track at some point and see what these things can really do!!!

Asian-not all cops are the same. There are police out there who do believe that statement. PA locals are not allowed to use radar, so the staties really do follow this rule. I've never seen one on an open road.

Speeding is illegal, so I'm not going to waste my time writing a letter to allow me to break the law. That's how the politicians will see it. You just have to pick your battles.

Finally, PA is big on instant-on, so a detector is meaningless, anyway.
