Smile New Member... question about exhaust...

im a new member... (BTW this is already turning out to be a great forum) i just bought an 01 996 C2 with the full oem aero kit. I want to begin the modding process... so Ive done some searching in terms of exhausts and coilovers but I cant find a definite answer (not saying one exists) about the fabspeed vs. agency power vs. ghl, etc.

I guess I just would like a general concensus of answers from people about their exhausts. If you have heard other exhuasts, a brief comparison would be great!!! I know this is really general but to make things more relative: I like a strong, powerful, muscular sound that is not overwhelmingly loud persay. i like a unique sound... i can tolerate a lot of "loudness" as long as it sounds unique...

thanks for everyone's input...

Btw, I hear that the best coilover for light track use/ street use is the pss9... correct me if im wrong... thanks everyone.

toast to the beginning of mods

Definately get Pss9's just ask Newport996 for the reasons it's the best... as for exhaust, get whatever you think sounds best... I went with GHL's cause they had a special on rennlist, others like sport exhaust or fabspeed... goodluck and welcome!!!

I had the PSE on my '01 C2, and I never heard any other exhaust that I liked the sound of more.

I love my PSE, it has a wonderful rasp to it and no droning whatsoever. I installed it with none of the electronics so it is on all the time.

It's hard to describe a sound because sound is pretty much subjective. What is loud to some is not to others. Hook up with some guys in your area and listen to the different types, that's the only way to satisfy your ears.

Post some pics so you can get your new member kit.

so no luck there...

I was looking into getting the fabspeed exhaust.

Go GHL, they sound awesome. You don't really notice the sound unless you roll down the windows. Then the symphony begins. They may still be on sale. Check Rennlist. Very high build quality and finish. Fairly easy to install. You won't be sorry!

Go to photobucket.com to load your photos then you can copy them here. I've heard of the Z-tek but haven't heard them. I believe at least one member has them on his car.

Pics or ban

Pse

Just installed PSEs (no electronics always open) on my '02 and they sound great. It is a perfect compromise IMO for semi-aggressive street and very mellow track sound. No resonance or irritating vibes, just pure symphony.

Admittedly, had I to do it again, I would have gone with something a bit louder + throatier.

There is absolutely no substitute for listening to as many as you can on other people's cars before making the $$$ decision.
