Schnell muffler question vs. Fabspeed

OK, The Schnell muffer is about 770 and the fabspeed is about a grand... Is the fabspeed really worth the extra 25% more? Also does the Schnell or fabspeed come with new clamps or are they extra?

i'm sure the HP gains will the same. none

honestly, you should try and hear them both. it's the only way to make your decision. one other thing you may want to consider if you drive your car in the winter in NJ is what they're made of. one may be more corrosion resistant than the other.

I have a short video/audio of the schnell exhaust after I put them on, but I can't figure out how to attach it here. if anyone knows how send me a message or I can e-mail the file to you.

Are you happy with the Schnell? How are the welds? The finish? I just found an ad for 699 for the mufflers. At 699, it's into petty cash, at $1000 for the Fabspeed, it breaks into real money

Also how much lighter are they than stock?

I bought 3 pair of SCHNELL tip mufflers from vertexauto.com, its the worst quality Ive ever seen, its shiny on the outside but inside the welding was a big joke, there were missed welding spots that you could look through and the back of the tips it was realy rusty.

I emailed vertexauto but first they told me they were only for style and it sounded like they ment it was not for real use just for show and second they agree that the spots were there was no welding shouldnt be like that.

But since my last email how to resolve this I did not get any email back, it will be a BIG negative feedback on ebay for sure if I dont hear from them in the couple of days.

So for me SCHNELL/VERTEXAUTO *THUMBDOWN*

I remember reading somewhere that Schnell products were simply made-in-China knock-offs. Their pictures look good, but I have never seen any of there stuff up close.

I bought the Schnells about a year ago from Vertex. It appeared well constructed, and I did not see any manufacturing defects. I had them installed at a local shop for about 1.5 hours labor while I watched the process. The mufflers fitted well in place of the stock mufflers and everything lined up as it is supposed to, including the tips relative to the bumper cutouts. The Schnells provide a mildly louder growl over the stock system at idle and throughout the rev range and have no cabin drone whatsover. I especially like the sound from a near distance away from the car when the car is started as it definitely sounds like an aftermarket system but yet not overly imposing. As a comparison, I've heard GHLs and definitely prefer the Schnells. As for the Fabs, I've only heard the sound clips on their site and it sounds a little louder than the Schnells. I recommend hearing the exhausts first and if possible, taking a ride, before making a decision. Many P-car owners will be happy to demo their aftermarket mufflers if you ask, myself included.

I've had ghl, fabs, ghl louds, stock. Fabs are the best by a wide margin, Schnell's are pure chinese knockoff junk.

I installed the Fabspeed's on my car a couple of years ago... have never looked back. I'ts been a while, but I do remember them being a whole lot lighter than the factory mufflers, the fit was perfect & I don't think the quality can be beat. I am reminded how much I love them every time I start the car... one of those times in life where there was no buyers remorse
