Porsche Sport Seats or GT3 Seats????

Wanted to get your opinion on seats???? Would you go with OEM Sport Seats or GT3 seats for a cab. Not a daily driver, rarely tracked.

I love the feel of the GT3 seats, at the same time, the Sport seats are very nice as well.

Sport seats painted backs...no point in GT3 unless you track IMO... with top down those painted backs look SICK

Msindi and Kirby,

Thank you both, I think I am leaning towards the sport seats more and more. Plus they are heated for those cool nights w/ the top down...

Msindi, love the ride.....

PS. Kirby, I ran into RobynC at Crystal Cove a few weeks ago, she spoke very highly of you....

i got a cab with GT-3 seats. i had sportseats that were probably good enough until i drove in it. it comes down to what type of driving you do. you don't need to go to a track to have these seats, but if you like driving agressive i can tell you first hand that you will feel like you are driving an entirely different car. when you take a corner or a bend alot of the times you can't really feel the way you car handles because your body is sliding in the seat. you really can't feel the car's drift. when your locked in a racing seat you can feel a huge and i mean huge differences to how your car is working, drifting sliding or not sliding.
anyhow i would be more than happy to let you rail my car around some turns since i live near you. one thing for sure you drive a car with gt-3 seats you will probably never be able to go back, unless you just want to use your car as a cruiser.

Lacab,

i may have a brand new set of cobra missano seats in black with black carbonfiber on the back. my friend who bought them for his gt-3 may rather buy gt-3 seats to save the extra 10lbs. they about 10lbs lighter than the porsche sport seat and look incredible. let me know.

Your reason to change is...?
Appearance?
GT3, GT3, GT3...
OK, and depending on your car color... paint the backs!
GT3 seats will attract a lot of positive attention, especially in a cab!!
Also, I think you may find the GT3 seats less costly and yes, also tons lighter.
However, the GT3 seats are not power (at all), and only slide, no tilt. A few people have added heat, so don't let that deter you too much.
If you need to put people in the back, then NOT GT3 seats because unless they are very, very skinny they won't be able to squeeze in / out.

GT3 Seats

More unique than Sport seats with painted backs. A lot also depends on your size. I wouldn't do it if you are a bigger guy.

GT3 seats not that cpomfortable for daily dirving...Also, unless you already have heated seats in your car, I think retrofitting the heated option is tough and $$$

The bottom of the "sport" seat is identical to the standard 996 seat. The seatback for the sport seat doesn't grip one all that well and for my body type (short legs, long torso) I find it uncomfortable and would advise you to sit in one of the seats before ordering them. If you're planning on any track time at all look at the GT3 reviews in the US press and you'll see that many complained about lack of support in the "sport" seats which is the only way Porsche delivers the car here in the US. The "real" GT3 seat makes you feel like part of the car.

Damn you guys! You are now making me re-think my seats. I want to tak a ride in someones car this weekend with the GT3 seats. I Purchased the Sport Seats out of Offroad's dad's GT2... They are in Mint condition less the 4K on them. Black with crests. Anyone interested in a trade? They may be for sale soon.
