As you can see, I just got my X74 and engine protection plate from Gert.

Does the engine protection plate attach using bolts that are already present? Should I have received some hardware to install it?

Thanks.

It uses existing hardware.

You guys are confusing this with the 993. The 993 engine tray is for aerodynamic puposes and is plastic. It has been shown to cause the engine to run hotter. The whole underside is covered on the 993. So the plastic tray is recommended to be removed. This has no impact on the 996 sump guard.

I just checked mine, sure enough, it had a couple of scuffs on it. Cheap insurance when you're trying to get some air over railroad tracks! Never had a overheating problem either FWIW.
