Welcome my Yellowbird-questions for experts...
2003 6 speed, variable exhaust thingie, h&r shocks (or is it coil-overs?), black sport seats, yellow seatbelts and rear console.
observations so far:
1. the tires are LOUD! and there's noticeable vibration in the wheel starting at about 80mpg. is this somethething to have checked?
2. is it normal to have oil pressure drop suddenly, and then come back up to normal a second later? this happened today, like, 3 times in a row and then everything back to normal. otherwise, engine running like a champ.

My car had some tramlining and vibrations here and there because the tires were way too worn. I just got new tires and it's straight as an arrow.
As for the oil pressure dropping, what are the conditions that this happens? Driving steady or at idle or when going from a stop?
This should NOT be happening unless the engine is bogging down when you shift or something. The oil pressure is going to rise with rising RPMs.
it happened at a steady cruise speed. as soon as i slowed down and started moving to the shoulder, it would recover pressure. did it 3 times and then the rest of the afternoon, no problem.
i wish i could replicate the condition, since the warranty runs out in june!

it may be the oil pressure sending unit.. I would have it checked...
Congrats on the car... looks great...

LOL...umbilical cord...hadn't thought of that!
what is the oil pressure sending unit?
the car dropped the prssure instantaneously, like if it was a signal interruption. car was in-gear and steady throttle when it happend.
i've got warranty until jue, so if there's anything that can be replaced, i must make it fail now. short of beating on the car, of course!
