Hardware Radar from upper control area?

Think I'm going to hardware my radar from the top, and before I attempt to "pull" off the cover that houses the dome switchs/moonroof....etc, can anyone recomment the correct way to do it. (like a Bently manual would have instructions for)

Mine is an 04'

its pretty straightforward.

Just pull the covers hiding the screws off. remove screws, then you can bring down the overhead lighting console.

Disconnect it and use a meter to find the +12v ign. I don't remember which wire off the top of my head. Find a ground point. Wire it up.

inside there is a cavity big enough to mount the V1 remote kit and wire from it. Pull it between the headliner and body to the side you want to put it on.

reassemble and you'll be set.

Good luck!

I would recommend just running the wire down from the top along the headliner and A pillar to the fuse box. Not hard to do and in my experience (5 cars) its stay in there nice and tight.

That way you can easily wire it into an ignition switched outlet and have it on a fuse.

Good point. That way I can also have a in-line fuse in there for easier access should it ever need to be changed.

one more question

How did you get the wires to stay in the pillar and head liner? seems I have a lot of space and the wire just falls out.

If it is not enough to just tuck it in, what I will do is periodically along the length of the wire is wrap it with black electrical tape to make it thicker and then stuff the wire in.

Not the most logical way, but it works. I grab a bunch of the lint from the lint filter from the dryer. I pick it from the dark cloth load to make sure it's close in color with my dark headliner. I use that to stuff the wires in. Just put enough of it through out the whole length. It's lightweight and it's free. The wire will stay in and you can't see it from the outside. Worked like a charm. good luck!!
