Sounds interesting - can anyone who has done this chime in with their experiences please? Especially sound clips, ease of installation and "seat of the pants" feel afterwards. Any thoughts on if there would be another bump from adding the plenium insert that's being developed?

So just to confirm, you saw rear wheel HP go up from 222 to 231 with just the exhaust, and from 231 to 249 when you added the intake to the exhaust?

The guys car you see in the pictures posts on Rennlist. Ted at EVSMotors on this board has done it alot. There are alot of people who have done both. It maybe with other exhausts as well, but not everyone dynos as the butt dyno is there. But we took it to that level to prove what it does. The dyno reads exactly as you see it!

If you would like to personally discuss the install, pros and cons, or anything relating to the parts, give me a ring. I have used 5 different companies exhausts and 2 other intakes when i owned my 996C2. I also ran a TPC Supercharger so can tell you the difference there as well.

I just installed the KN Intake a couple of weeks ago- While not the easiest intake kit to install, I am very please with the results especially at the price point.
Quiet at idle and cruise - freaking roars when you put your foot in it. No dyno tests, but the butt dyno and overall response gain was more than I expected. Plus It is a pretty clean install when done.
You do need to monkey around with the OEM intake snorkel to get it to line up properly under the spoiler lid opening, but it's not that big of a deal.
Plan on taking 2+ hours to install if it is your 1st time because the instructions suck! Assembling the heat shield body is the hardest part. LOL

Thought: You know what would be ideal? If someone would make a CF cap piece to go over the filter body top opening.

No more MAF sensor failures? I am intersted, how much is the sale price?

I am thinking about pairing this up w/ muffler bypass pipes, hopefully to get some low end back, would this be the right move?

FWIW, I have not had any MAF issues since installing the KN - I think the key is to not over-oil the filter. It comes pre-oiled and is just right.

Dunno about the exhaust, the intake is pretty easy overall - just a bit time consuming.

There are only two issues you will run into:
1. The instructions on assembling the heat shield body suck, and you will need to trim the rubber weather stripping and make V-shaped relief cuts at the tight bends in order to properly get it to fit on nicely.

2. The last portion is attaching the OEM snorkel to the left side of the intake kit, it probably will not line up correctly with the intake opening on the spoiler lid. You may have to have someone hold it in the correct position and then put the screws in to secure it.

The kit does fit nicely and is very solid in place.

You may want to cut / glue a strip of rubber in the big U-shaped holder for the intake pipe to the right of the filter- You will know what I mean when you see it. I didn't like the loose fit and usually metal rubbing against plastic is not good in the long run.

BE SURE to disconnect the battery for a minute before you start your car with the new intake to avoid the CEL light, and (I'm sure you know this) be sure to turn the key to position 1 before disconnecting the battery to avoid setting off the alarm.

Drive around the block somewhat easy several times to let the computer adjust, then get on it a few times, then it will rock.

Another definite improvement from the KN intake I noticed is my idle is significantly smoother.. I was surprised! Hopefully you will get the same benefit.

Have fun- post pics!

LOL - I think I offended Dan by asking for a slightly lower price on the Exhaust.
Wanted to buy one- got ignored. Oh well.

Sorry Dan, no offense intended- I'm shrewd by nature
