Adaptive Sport Seats qustion......

Does anyone know to process for installing a set of sports seats into a 99' 996 C2 with non-heated/full power seats. The sports seats or not heated and are not fully powered. Is it a straight bolt on? Anyone know?

I wouldnt put those in your car. Weigh like 100lbs each!(or so I hear) Thats like losing 20 horsepower. Do the GT3 seats if you can deal with the comfort. If not stick with the base. The extra grip is basically non-existent and not worth it IMO. Especially on the track basically useless. : )

Are you saying that you would not upgrade from standard seats to sport seats ? I have comfort seats with lumbar yadi yada and lateral support is in critical shortage, on road and track. I don't have much seat time with sport seats but would expect the shoulder support to help ?
GT3 club sport seats are OTT for me, I find them ugly (sorry, my taste) and inconvenient (access to the rear).
My ideal would be the optional 997 adaptive seats, but will they fit in a 996 ?

why would sports seats be inconvenient? Aren't they almost like the standard porsche seats? The back still comes up like the standard seats, right?

The GT3 CS seats with the E.T. heads have fully rigid shells, the backrest does not swivel. The sport seats allow access to the back, but I am growingly skeptical that they offer significantly more support than my comfort seats.

Just take out a few bolts, There’s not much too it. Everyone has a different preference in seats. I think the Euro gt3’s are the cream of the crop because they fit me very well and don’t weigh nearly as much. Good luck with the swap, just don’t scratch the paint. Put the seats into the most upright compact position to make them easy to move around. You’ll be surprised by the weight (heavy).

I am no Porsche expert, but in my experience, adaptive seats are heavy, motorized and computerized and always fighting with you. Do something simpler and lighter.

Depends on his usage....I have a HEAVY 996 C4 cab...with full power seats...I think my car is QUITE peppy and fun for my purposes....If he does not need it to be the lightest on the block and isnt doing a ton of track days, go for the heavier, more comfortable seats....997 seats will probably physically work, but they have airbags in the seats, which wont work (not a big deal) but the wiring may or may not match up easily, and you will have to deal with that.....oh and COST....I saw a set for sale for $4k used....lol...

In the pictures it looks like you have to splice some wires. I hope that's not the case. I can wrench but i hate dealing with electrical.

Newport996- I'm like you, I don't need to be the lightest on the block. I don't track or race my car at all. I just love the look or the sports seats. And I have a set avaible to me whenever I'm ready to by.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.
