Just had car tinted- came out sweet!

Thought I would add a bit of shade to the pcar, it get's quite hot in the summer weather here (you got to love black cars!).

Visited Tint Factory on La Cienega blvd in L.A. yesterday- George the owner was very nice and seemd to know his tint. When I rolled up there was a brand new white GT3 sitting in the parking lot so I figured I was in the right place.
George recommended the 3M ceramic-based tint in medium (35%) on all windows. I didn't want it too dark, George showed me a couple of cars he just finished with the same tint and it looked about right so went with it.

An hour and a half later I roll back to pick the car up- I think it came out really nice and shading seems to be 'just right' - IMO it sort of integrates the look of the black car a bit better. Major heat reduction inside the car!
Price was $225 cash.

Here's some pics I snapped this morning- [EDIT]:: For some odd reason the rear quarter window looks darker in the pic than it is- everything is the same value of tint, I guess I'll have to take some better pics..

That's going to keep you car cooler and help protect against UV damage too. Looks great.

Looks good...I want tinted windows as well, just couldn't decide what % to go with. How has 35% affected side and rear visibility (if any)?

Actually the visibility is still very good - even at night. I suppose it looks darker in the pictures than it really is.
I too was concerned about visibility as I am an extremely aware driver- When I drive, I drive.. If you know what I mean.
George at Tint Factory showed me a couple of cars with the medium tint (35%) applied prior to doing mine- So I had a chance to sit in one of the cars and see for myself. To me it felt just right.

FYI, there is a lighter shade available as well as a total clear.

Even the total clear will block 99% of UV and a good percentage of heat- So those of you clear windows fans might want to consider that, just for the UV protection factor. I have some new CF parts getting installed and am re-coloring some of the leather and vinyl that have obvious sun damage / fade.
I'd like to keep that from happening again. I'm also considering covering the windshield with the total clear.

Looks good. I tinted my windows about a week after I bought my Z. I think it is the best investment I have ever made. Keeps people from being able to see inside my car who may possibly want to steal, keeps people from looking at me at those awkwardly long red lights, keeps the blazing sun out, cools the car down tremendously, and is great to roll up when you have gangster teenagers in extended Escalades blaring horrible rap next to you at lights in the middle of the night who want to look cool. (Happened last night)

I opted for 15% tint or so on my car. It may have been 10, I'm not positive. It's not legal and isn't always the greatest at night especially in rain but I wouldn't change it for the world. My next car I am still going darker. I love when people try to look at you at stoplights and can't see me through the tint. It drives people crazy.

Looks very nice and clean. Ok, who makes those exhaust tips or did they come with the aftermarket exhaust?

Thx- The tips came with the car when I bought it. They are Eisenmann tips (or so it says on the underside of them).
http://www.eisenhaus.com/ehprice.php...41&Submit.y=12

They stick out a bit too far now with the AP exhaust- I need to do a bit of modding to get them back another 2" or so..

Hey, now that i'm looking at the Eisenmann mufflers I think those are what I pulled out to replace with the AP's. Damn those were expensive mufflers...

Tint is good. Went with 25(?) on mine. Just a shade darker. Used the carbon stuff so no radio interference either. Another benefit of the tint is a reduction in glass spal in the event of breakage. Also helps to strengthen the glass to reduce the ease of smash and grab thefts or assualts. One company even makes a film (heavy mil) that will supposedly allow some glass windows to stop small caliber handgun rounds.
