Cigarette ligher adapter problem.

I have a 2001 C2. I have noticed that my Magellan GPS and my Nextel charger will not stay plugged into the cigarette lighter or turn on. It seems to be too shallow. I have tried buying an adapter at Best Buy but it also was too long. Has anyone else noticed this problem? If so, what solutions did you come up with? Maybe a certain type of adapter.

Thanks,

Paul

I have this same problem, and posted on rennlist a while back to see if anyone had answers. A few folks commented that the pre-o2 cars had the german spec lighter sockets, and that a little sleeve could be purchased at radio shack that inserts into the socket so that accessories have a tighter fit. I haven't tried it yet, but thought I'd pass it along. Good luck.

YES YES YES!! I thought it was me...but yes that is correct..I also have a 2001 and none of my chargers would fit. I thought I needed a new cig lighter assembly. I found out that problem when I bought the Porsche battery tender and it had the piece I needed. You can buy it here from Escort...I bought an extra one and keep it in my car incase I need to charge my phone.

This is what you need...

it is $2.50

That will solve your problem!

Don't forget the shipping and handling. LOL. It could add up to almost six bucks.
