Another one bites the dust...

Soooo....

I was driving a little too fast around some hairpin turns (a mile from my house that I drive all the time) and after the third corner the rear kicked out and never recovered...I slid perpendicular into a guard rail that spun me like a helicopter off a 20 foot enbankment. Yea, Im an idiot. I think the engin fell off the mounts, the front tires are facing different directions, all the windows shattered, side airbags deployed, body kit ripped off and the roll protection things behind the seats deployed as if I flipped it. Tow yard opens at 9am so I will post pics when I can. Not cool, not cool not cool.

Oh, and I walked out with only a bruised ego. This is my 14th car, 6 have been totaled and I have walked from all of them. This was the first that was my fault.

Pics to follow if I can survive the wife, she just got off graveyard shift...

tshack...out.

Total bummer, tshack. I'm glad you're okay.

Since you drive it all the time, did the surface change? Sand, oil, etc?

That happened to me when I lived back in AZ when I hit a spot on a curvy road that I knew well. Sand had drifted onto the road from a storm the previous day, and the next thing I know is that I'm sitting in the desert off on the side of the road facing in the wrong direction. I got lucky; no real damage to the car and it was a flat section with just scrub brush.

Pics could be painful to look at.

The turns are 90 degree so maybe 20 mph but I guess I accellerated too hard out of it and she just broke loose like I hit a patch of ice or something.
