Audi R8 Or 997 Turbo Need Replies....

Hey guys.. I recently came from a Audi showroom.. and for the first time in person i saw the Audi R8. It looks amazing.. looked like a bugatti veyron from the side! But people have been saying that it's an Audi... ive been thinking of trading in my turbo for the R8..

So the question is ... Audi R8 or the Porsche Turbo?

I love the R8, but man... you can't beat a 997 TT.

I recently attended the Audi driving event and I got to drive the R8 (manual) on the track at speeds of 140. It is an amazing car. I love the interior and the linear power curve. The handling was good, but I felt that it was a little twitchy when correcting the steering around a corner. I likes the RS4 better. Great car, but I would not trade in the Turbo.

You're on a 997TT forum. What other answer do you expect?

I won't even trade my 997S on an Audi R8.

R8. May be slower, but cooler, more unique, better looking, gated gearbox (that sells it for me by itself), and yeah, better looking.

wow 95% voted the 997 turbo so far... I dont understand why people don't like the R8. I heard the V10 version is coming end of 2008 which i think will be fast. Whats so bad about the R8 anyway??

Nothing is BAD about the car, but I feel it would be a step down. Wait for the V10 version.

The R8 uses the same powertrain as the much cheaper RS4, and provides less space and little added performance. Audi's also have traditionally poor depreciation - not Jaguar bad but nowhere near Porsche good. I'd wait for the V10 version, because the R8 is barely faster than a Cayman S
