Question about GT2

We have all seen the GT3 RS prices get crazy; does anyone have any insight as to how the GT2 will do on the open market?

No doubt it will be well over MSRP for a while. But using the 996 GT2 as an example there will be some nice bargains to be had down the road.

There will be an initial feeding frenzy after which I believe they will come back to earth quite quickly.

The 996 and 997 GT2 are essentially de-contented TT's and, as a result, suffer from a perception problem. That, plus the easy modability of the TT plant makes them suffer by comparison.

The 997 may fare slightly better than the 996 because it is just so damn sexy and the 997 are slightly less responsive to modding.

I hope to own one someday, but only after the first guy takes the initial hit.

A dealer that I have spoken with is of the opinion that the initial, radically priced GT2 vehicle will not hold its value in the used car market. An investment of $15K to $20K on a stock 997TT will provide similar performance.

I talked to a dealer in Cali who has been allocated two cars. They're asking $50k over for each car.

It's going to get really crazy. I hear they are only building 65 GT2's for 2008.

My buddy placed a $20k deposit last week to get in line. They -Champion Porsche- assured him he will pay MSRP. He's friends with Dave Maraj though.

We are getting 170 into the U.S. so I think your number is a little off.

It seems every dealer is giving out different numbers for how many are coming in. I was told a bigger number than 170. No way do I believe that it will be the number which I was told.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

The number Porsche NA said was "About 200" so that coule be 170 or 220 but however you look at it, it will be limited.

lets play the guessing game and maybe make some bets...

I bet the first few will sell for $80,000 over yea I said 80k over
