BMC Filter Fitment FYI Between 2007 and 2008

We have had some people inquire if there were any differences between the 2007 turbo and the 2008 turbo air filters. Well just to let you guys know they are the same. We had a local 2008 turbo come in this Saturday and purchased a set but had heard that there might be differences but sure enough the ones we had here which were ordered during production of the 2007 models, fit perfect.

on the tt you shouldn't get that wooshing sound, I know when you run the K&N you don't get that sound. I know the wooshin sound your talking about though. most people get when you install an open cone filter

BMC in turbo

hi CorruptedSanity

BMC it still looks nice and clean after 7,000 klms in 2008 turbo, so no cleaning needed yet. i'll just play it by sight.

for lintc0532........i have not heard of K&N having one yet.

gooday !

Any disadvantage to changing stock filter?

How hard was it to install? Requires any adjustments or is it plug n play?

Very easy to install - pull straight up on air filter cover - it's attached by two posts that go into the top of the filter element and two posts that fit into grommets in the bottom of the engine compartment. Then take out 4 screws, remove and replace filter element and reverse the process. No adjustments needed.

Bad advice - the filters come pre-oiled from BMC - don't add any more oil or you may cause problems with the MAF sensor. The only time you "oil" the filter is after you go through the cleaning process.
