GTR vs Gallardo SL vs 911 turbo vs GT-3 vs NSX-R on track
The G SL is a nice car but for the price I would pick the GT-2 and pocket the change. Got to admit Lambo did a good job with this car reducing weight with AWD and a mid-ship V-10. You can see the results in this video.
On top of that it's starting to become obvious how Nissan acheived this "remarkable" speed with such high weight. All they did was put a very stiff race suspension, super fast gearbox and "exclusive, special" tires. It's no engineering marvel, they just did what anyone else could do. But the more reviews come out, the more you can see what it's made of.
Put the same tires on each car and the TT in Manual and watch the beating commence.
I agree, you wont get unbiased opinions from any producing country. I could care less about the impressions of the cars, they are not in the same league where that's concerned. Just some real testing is in order.
But then again, it cant get much worse than that Best Motoring. So maybe they'll cancel each other out with bias.
Sucks how the models they are sending for US testing are not even legal to drive here and will be destroyed upon completion, so how close they are to the actual production vehicle is again left to interpretation.

Cars should be tested stock for stock.
If the GT-R leaves the showroom with R-compounds, super stiff suspension and that trick flappy paddle gearbox, then that's what you get (and its still cheaper than the Turbo or GT3).
The GT3 and GT2 come with R-compounds. And the G-car comes with e-gear.
No point moaning either about the TT's conservative suspension settings. Again, that's what Porsche have sold the car with, and that's the way the car will be tested. If Nissan decided to sell the car with -3 degrees of negative camber, then that's their business (and owners will just have to deal with obscene tire wear after a few thousand miles).
Point is, when Nissan announced that their GT-R had the TT in its sights, everyone (myself included) chuckled and said, "yeah right!". Now we're all making excuses for our beloved 911.
Having said that... this BM test looks bogus to me for a whole spectrum of reasons. I don't subscribe to the conspiracy theory-- that the Japanese automobile manufacter and journalist yakuza have intentionally produced this video to show the GT-R humbling the Porsche. But running a tired car on bald tires doesn't look fair, and I find it hard to believe that the GT3 and Turbo would get spanked THAT badly.
Best judge will be once customers start getting their cars later this year, and those cars meet GT3's and Turbos on the track. I wouldn't be surprised if the GTR develops a pretty fierce reputation as a track warrior to be respected. But let's see if they are cars that 911 Turbo owners will learn to fear.
(and i'm leaving tuned cars out of this, because once you start doing that, all bets are off on both sides)

You probably mean this

Facts from the video: I speak Japanese so I understand the comments on the video.
*They picked auto for TT because Lambo and GTR was auto. (Semi-auto)
*They had to re-test the Lambo for 1/4miles because it was faster on manual mode. (First run was on full auto) TT however, was faster on full auto.
*TT was slow around corner because of weight. (Drivers comment)
*They say Lambo won because it was much lighter than GTR. (Drivers comment)
*All the drivers are pro drivers from JGTC, and i am pretty sure they can wipe our asses on the race track.
Just watch the video as entertainment people, BM is the only company who brings all these high end cars on the track at the same time. I don't think any US company can do this for liability reasons. I enjoy watching them, even though their view might skew to certain cars. And people who know cars will not buy cars based on these videos. If they do, they are idiots. One last thing, some of you need to take it easy on word "Jap."

You are right, this is what Porsche did to compete with Ferrari. (430 vs TT) Just like how Nissan is doing it to compete with Porsche. (GTR vs TT) Funny how when Porsche does it, it is a engineering marvel but when Nissan does it, it is nothing special.
What are you talking about? How did Porsche do this to compete with the 430 when the TT isnt even in the same competition bracket in handling. The TT is a daily driver. The GT3 and GT2 are for competing with the F430 and they are street race cars.
Not driving 7/10ths like the guys in the Porsches were doing.
ROFLMAO. Step away from the crack pipe. Even if Chuck Norris was driving the 997TT it still wouldn't beat a Z06 or a GTR. Are you expecting the Porsche badge to generate some kind of special forcefield round the car? Does the PASM have a cheat mode?

I'm not deliberately pouring derision on the 911, it's come a long way from its origins as a tarted up Beetle but know your place in the food chain.
LMAO. What do you think the GTR is at 1740kg? The V-Spec is the race car. So far the GTR has destroyed 997TT times on about 10 different tracks all across the world. Welcome to the real world. Do yourself a favour. Next time you're shopping, buy a car not a badge.
look at this clip and have a little laugh.. a standard evo and STi is faster then a GT3 around tsukuba.

BM is nothing that you take too seriously.
