New 997 Need Help!!!

Hello dear 6 speeders!!!

As my summer car I have SL 55 AMG 2008 modell with all possible options RED/RED designo. I have a friend who wants to buy it from me the same money I bought it!!!! by the way it has 3000milies on it.

Im thinking of buying the ultimate sport car TURBO. Please its very important for me, that you will suggest about this situation.

1. Should I sell my new SL 55 AMG and buy TURBO.

2. Which Turbo feels better cabrio ot coupe.

3. I want to buy it White/Black or White/Beige/

4. What are the + and - of Turbo Cab and Turbo Coupe.

5. Please, post photos of your TURBO.

6. WHEN NEW TURBO WILL BE OUT OR FACELIFT???

7. What options are very important?

It very important for me that you would take this thread serious, because if I will do it, the car will stay with me minimum for 3-5 years.

Thank you all in advance who took this serious.
Very greatful.

Pavel.

The SL55 AMG will feel faster in the low RPM range. This is mainly because it is a V8. But at higher RPMs the 997TT is a different world. If you can swing it, keep both. They compliment each other quite well. I have a heavily modified SLK55 AMG (Brabus B55S) and a 997TT coupe. I love them both but for very different reasons. The SL55 AMG is a bit heavy. Overall, however, the 997TT is a better car. If you have to choose one, go for the Porsche.

SL55 AMG is Supercharged & has at monstorous Low-End...On the other hand the 997TT has Arm rippin Mid-Range & Top-End...

So make your choice....I'd go with the Porsche. Handling is outstanding. They are both extremely nice cars but if you want to ulitmate Sports Car/ Supercar I'd go with the Porsche!!!

You are absolutely right. The SL55 is a kompressor. I got it mixed up with the SLK55 which is not.

I have a white coupe w/black interior, pccb, adaptive sport seats, 6spd, short shifter, lsd, and lots of other options. The build date is two weeks from tomorrow and will be here in April. I will be posting pics! (You should drive both the coupe and cab. I found for me there is a blind spot in the cab when backing up).

Even stock the 997tt felt as though I was hurled out of a sling shot when those Turbo's spooled . Modified it's an entirely different beast and it does seem like the car has a lot of room to spike the performance and yet it also has luxury in its character for street use .

The MB is a different type of car . Yep --it's fast but not as capable of the agility that I find in the 997tt. I like Mercedes and even have an E class as a passenger car but when I want sport I have always been drawn to Porsche .

Regarding coupe Vs cab --I want the roof . That's my preference in terms of performance and my own likes and dislikes . I don't find road filth appealing in the slightest way and even dislike opening my window when I have to pay a toll . The idea of sacrificing some performance , top up visibility , acoustic sound , and seeing dust on myself or car interior would not be fun for me. In short --it's a very personal choice.

Thanks, was very interesting to read. Same feeling about cab as yours. Plus, if SL has solid roof, porshce has soft top... its not that good.
