Interesting. According to the PDF file I have from Techart, Type 1 is the round and Type 2 is the triangular. I guess that's the Germans for you.

Jason stop torturing me! Besides its tax time and I can't afford one! LOL! Really if the price wasn't so steep I would have gone for it last year. I actually like my factory sport (thicker) wheel enough to just leave it stock. Too bad Porsche didn't offer these wheels as an option, it would be real tempting. Larry don't even bother posting a photo of yours, its all your fault anyway. (he had the all leather black wheel without the techart logo when he came to visit me in San Francisco with Jason last year and I started to drool when I saw it)!

am I wrong or the carbon materials are different between the photos which CWTwin and imcarnuts posted? or is it just photography difference? The carbon in sports steering wheel looks a bit shiny and MF one looks matte. What do u think?

You're not seeing things. Techart offers two versions, shiny clearcoat or matte clearcoat. I have the shiny clearcoat which matches the OEM CF pieces from Porsche.

Looks amazing. Love the full leather interior, very rare to see anyone get the center console leather option.

I had the carbon/leather version in my car and the first time it sat in the sun (when in the shop for brakes) the seam of the carbon section split making the wheel very uncomfortable. I exchanged it for a full leather version which has a much better feel on the track, but definitely doesn't look as cool.

If you get the carbon version, be mindfull when/where you park it.

They've since then fixed that issue. I had that happen to me too. It was the inner core expanding when the interior gets quite hot on a sunny day. I got the updated version and it hasn't "split" since then.

I like the idea of adding leather bits. The double stitching adds so much to the look. Official Porsche leather upgrade bits are expensive, but places like Dallas Custom Steering Wheel, Classic 9 Leather Shop (formerly 928 leather) and others have very competive pricing for consoles, visors and other leather items.
