Has 911 Production started again after explosion?

Monday morning there was the explosion in the Porsche Plant which has production of all 911's halted. Does anyone know if or when it is reopening and starting production again? I can't find any information except the initial press releases which didn't say much. Since my car was in production, I am going kindof insane not knowing!

Hang in there, Greta. Your car will get built. The initial reports were saying that production would be halted for 2-3 days.

I got confirmation from my friend at the factory that production restarts on Monday for sure, and that no one was seriously hurt

Glad to hear that no one was seriously hurt.

Greta - I also wanted to let you know that no PETS were harmed during the small explosion. So on Monday they will go back and do some pre- paint processing to make sure they have a color match. I have proof!

The word is things will be ready to go by Monday, but not at full capacity until the end of the week, whatever that means. I would expect no more than 1-3 week delays as a worst case.

aaaaahhhhhhh! More waiting! So much for the 2-3 days. This is killing me - especially on these sunny days watching everyone out driving their pcars. :-(

Just got this in my email...

-----------

Porsche to start production of the 911 again on Monday

Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, will be starting
production of the 911 series again next Monday, March 3, at the main
factory in Zuffenhausen. Production was stopped last Monday following a
deflagration that occurred in the paint shop, in which a PVC fusion oven
was badly damaged. The material damage, amounting to several hundred
thousand Euros, is largely covered by insurance.

The causes of the accident have now been identified. External experts have
ascertained that the gas escape was due to a technical defect. An
examination of the other ovens has shown that they are in perfect working
order and fully functional.

By adopting special measures, it will be possible to compensate the
production backlog of 800 vehicles that arose during this week in the
course of the current business year.

THanks Everyone. my buddy in Germany sent me the same news above that production is starting back up on Monday. I'll let you know when they have an update on my status at the dealer next week. Glad this is over, it about gave me a heart attack

And yes, I have a very good photographer who just graduated college and will be home next weekend to start looking for a job as a web designer/graphic designer - if anyone knows of a good job!
