Good question....perhaps both.
A couple things to think about. Do folks post threads like this a means of information on other cars that "threaten" the Porsches or is it to get us Porschephiles "riled" up and therefore all defensive about our "sacred" P-cars? Personally, I like all cars with a few notable exceptions such as a Yugo or a few other "not so great" cars. I actually find myself admiring the GT-R almost to the point where I'd even think about getting one. The problem here is that I love my Turbo because it's everything I'd ever wanted in a car all rolled into one. The history, the heritage, the capabilities, the mystique, and everything else about it. A lifetime dream come true for this guy. The GT-R to me, is just another very capable Japanese car.

Good question. But I do think that posts in the 997 Turbo section should be about 997 TT not about the GT-R. And Yes, I know that the 997 TT was in that test, then please name the thread something like it.
I don't feel the 997 Turbo section is where you have to post every single test where the 997 TT comes up short.
We all know that the GTR is a great car. That has been proven in at least 5 different threads already. It´s not necessary with 5 more.

yeah but the GT-R also has history, the heritage, the capabilities, and the mystique. so its not JUST another mere very capable Japanese car. its a true and legit competitor
some car owners(some Pcar owners) like to have such severe brand loyaltly they treat the car as if its their kid at a football game that just got punched in the eye and feel the need to protect it by anymeans. forgeting the kid(car) can defend its self against a peer

has a longer heritage in terms of racing. yes you are right but thats pretty much the only different between the history they both possess.
but you seem very level headed about the competition so thats cool.
