Has anyone had the new Proline Windshield film installed? Are you happy with it - is the maintenance difficult - and how has it held up. I understand it does need to be replaced every two years or so, but does save your windshield from pits and cracks.

(My car is on the vessel Green Cove arrives at the Panama Canal tomorrow and will become a US Citizen on Friday when it transits though! Then to San Diego - it is getting closer and I am soooooo excited!)

 

I remember the feeling. I now have that feeling again because my car has been on a lift and trickle charger all winter and I'm taking it down tomorrow for a Porsche Club breakfast on Sunday...can't wait. Would you please post a little more information on this film? If it saves my windshield from stones maybe it's worth a hard look. Good luck with the wait and don't forget the 6 speed motto: PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES!!! (well it's not reallly a motto, but you get the idea)

I've never heard of the Proline Windshield film but if it truly works as advertised then it might be worth a shot. Like Ray says, do you have more information about it? When I did a search on Google, I found this:

After talking to a local detail shop that's working on getting some, I found out a few things. Apparently this won't just be for brand new pristine windshield but also for existing windshields because the product supposedly "fills in" the scratches/pitting therefore making it look brand new again. I'm definitely interested but remain skeptic about that claim. We'll see...

Mirrorworks in Seattle is an installer of the Proline Windshield film. I am trying to get some consumer feedback on it. I would love to preserve my windshield like new!

I just ordered from these guys for both of my cars. A friend of mine has
it on his Z06 that he tracks and he loves it. I'll report back after it is installed.

 

So does anyone have this on his/her car? Does it need replacement often?

My car is a daily driver and the windshield has accumulated multiple little scratches. I am thinking about installing this ($450 installed).

 

European windshields are soft to begin with so they're more prone to pitting. I've got it installed on my CLK63 black that I track and 993tt. Saves the windshield. I use to use clear window tint on the outside of my racecar but that scrateched too easy but tripled the life of the windshild. If you live in area's wheres there's blowing sand its a must. As for filling in the pits and scratches, it does an ok job if they are minor.

Thanks for the prompt & helpful reply. I assume you have the same thing, Proline, and this is a strong recommendation from you? A few questions please:

Does the wiper cause faint scratches on the Proline?

To what degree does the Proline reduce brightness/visibility?

What happens when the Proline itself gets hit with a pebble? Do the hits leave marks? Not too bad?

Any suggestion as to the average duration of an installed Proline?
