"95% Chance of No 2009 Turbo"

Danbury Porsche told me there is a 95% chance that Porsche will not be producing an '09 (or '10) Turbo.

Everyone else seems to think there will not only be one, but that we will see a Turbo S for '09.

Can someone clear this up?

It feels like a heavy handed sales tactic to me.

100% chance they have either a car on the lot or a June build 2008 allocation they want to sell you instead.

The people whos say they have a allocation slot are pulling some bull****. Porsche has not released any allocation numbers for 2009 997 yet. If they have it has been in the last couple days since I was at the dealer last week and they advised me of this.

Not completely true. Sorry, I have facts. Not here to argue, but there are some slots known. Not as 'definite' as the typical 3-month allocation most dealers have, but some do know their start-run for the '09 production/model year now.

I heard PAG was pulling the plug on the rest of the 997 TT production run in order to re-tool after the embarrassment of the GT-R. Look for a "2009 1/2" model in late Fall with 200 lbs of lead ballast in the nose and a new PCM display with a Wii controller integrated into the Steering Wheel...

I understand what you are saying. They just dont have order guides or anything. My dealer said that they will get 2 in June but dont have exact allocation and I can order a car without an order guide since they dont know if options will change.

They have confirmed some features with me that are really exciting.

I think dealers can easily guesstimate what they are getting based on past experiences and current sales etc. to figure out how many they will be allocated and gifted. Anyways, Im confident there will be an 09, if that rumor turns true I will be very surprised - and happy

I have ordered an 09 turbo without an order guide in January. Pricing and options umknown, but I have the first build allocated to me
Dealers will know their allocation of 911 Turbos. They may also have their slots sold already . A local dealer has confirmed that their date for 09 911(non Turbo) orders has actually moved up to June. Turbos expected to be ordered late June/July for Aug/Sept arrival.
