TOOKI Bluetooth – at a very SPECIAL price
TOOKI Bluetooth – at a very SPECIAL price
Due to our buying power, we have made special arrangements for additional units to be available to our Porsche customers at a significant savings from list price. Similar to when we ran the original group buy, this will need to be handled off the boards and in confidential fashion.<o></o>
<o></o>
In order to qualify for this offer, please email me directly and indicate Tooki April GB in the subject. We will email you back with confirmation of the details of this very special offer, and I can promise you won’t be disappointed!<o></o>
<o></o>
This will be a one-time offer and will expire when we reach 50 units. So if you are thinking about adding Bluetooth to your Porsche (must have PCM with the telephone button on the face, but no need for the Porsche factory phone module), NOW is the time. Act quickly. This one will go away soon.<o></o>
<o></o>
Thanks.<o></o>

Update - lots of interest, so we're going to let this run a few days. Email me if you want to get on the interest list (no obligation). eric@bumperplugs.com
Eric,
This Tooki kit is not ready for prime time and NAV-TV knows it. It is plagued with problems. I have been trying to get mine to work consistently since December and it's one problem after another.
I have the Ipod, Tooki and Sirius in one car and the Sirius Kit in another. I have replaced all the modules and updated the Tooki software more than once.
None of the product works consistently and they know it. Software issues, chip issues and support problems. You can see it all here.
When I call them for support they don't tell me my install is botched, they say that they have known issues and there coming out with new modules and software in a few weeks. So why do they continue to sell the bad product? Are they purging stock? When I asked them about the latest firmware for the Tooki I was told not to install it because it has a known stability problem. Why would they have this on there web site if it has a known problem? Are they dumping defective product on there distributors? Give them a call and ask for Tony in service, see if my facts are correct. Ask him what software they are using on the 50 units?

Tony,
I'm not sure why you're having so many issues with yours not working for you. Mine has worked beautifully since day one and I have absolutely no complaints. I haven't had to apply any firmware updates either. Could it be the phone you're using? I use mine with my Blackberry Curve.

Mine has been a compete mess as well. Nothing works right, IPOD, Sirius, and the Bluetooth are all problematic.
I am told that it is probably one of the units affecting the rest but until I can find time to bring it back to have the installer start unplugging one at a time I am SOL.
Like I have time for this crap. For what I paid it should work right the first time.
Anytime a 'node' is added to a fiber optic loop, there is the likely chance a computer reprogram is needed. In our years of experience with the MOST bus, many issues can be resolved by reprogramming the loop. Takes about 15 minutes at a dealership. If you have a Tooki, and have issues with that unit, you should contact the manufacturer as they handle all support, replacement, troubleshooting, and have been great for any issues our customers have run into. But if nothing is working right on the electronics side (as you mention, Rob), it sounds like an installation error might have happened, and something is not in the right place.
In my 997TT I have just the Sirius unit, it's got about 80% uptime.
In the CTT everything is a mess. I don't use the Tooki unit anymore because the phone will make a bluetooth connection but the car will not see the Tooki interface. So if the phone rings you can't answer it. Most of the time the Ipod interface says "no changer found" and the satellite unit is either missing or is "updating". Every time I get in the car something does not work. All of the modules have been replaced so they are the newest release. They just do not work as advertised.
I have been very patient with with NAV-TV but it's wearing thin. If this was a 200 dollar interface I could understand but this stuff is top dollar, it should be thoroughly tested before it's released. They know there is a big problem but they continue to sell this stuff....
I feel like a beta tester but I am not getting anything for my effort.

On some installs of MOST bus products, when the PCM reads 'no cd changer found' it is simply a programming update that's needed with the Porsche system tester. Again, have a dealer hook up the tester, program the fiber optics, and that re-identifies each node on the loop. In many cases, that's all it takes. It's really important that anyone who owns a vehicle with fiber optics understand the nature of the computer that reads the loop. Reprogramming is the quick-fix you may likely find solves your entire problem with the systems.

My car had a cd changer from the factory as well as SAT radio. The CD changer has been bypassed and the XM Sat radio replaced with the Sirius unit. The folks at NAV TV stated that the PCM was not the issue, they have a hardware/programming issue. But It won't hurt at this point to try and reprogram it.
I thought the programming was a problem if you never had a CD changer or phone module? My PCM can see all three units on occasion but most of the time one or the other is missing.
