WARNING: Dymag Wheels quality
I have gone gloss black on my Dymags and are having the made so that the Porsche center caps will also fit.
I to have the Ti lug nuts ordered.
The wait is killing me!!!
(How long did your wheels take to arrive?)
The Ti bolts are very hard to get but they are nice. Really it is a cosmetic thing because the weight savings is no big deal. What we do with an extra grand!
I agree with luiscarlos. I would not recommend powdercoating the bolts.
Call me stupid but I would not want not even a hint of a risk with my bolts that hold my wheels.
I'm sure when they are baked and heat treated they will do it right but for me I'm not taking any chances. God forbid if something happens during the stress of tracking the car or street driving for that matter.
You would be out in the cold and unable to claim anything.
Congrats on the Dymags and I hope they are perfect. I love my Dymags. The handling improvement is incredible. I do have a leak issue which is trying my patience but I have not made the time to properly and fully have them checked out.

It is my understanding that separating the magnesium center from the carbon barrel in order to paint the center greatly increases the chance for leaking.
GEE-BEE - Are yours coming from the factory custom painted or are they being painted here?
I have two extra sets of Ti Wheel Bolts. Will sell one for 1275.00 + shipping, which is what I have in them. United States only. No dealers as I want them to go to a good home.

They came from Dymag painted white, the spokes were resprayed the correct B4 carrara white to match..
Iam sure there is a seal between the spoke and the rim on the inside
Iam having GMG do the mount for me since they have done these many times and they have never had a problem, they have the best machine and have Nitrogen also....
I have a bottle N2 atached to my garage for my Desmocedici D16rr and it's all i will use....
Iam very happy that there will be a service for these wheels at Wheel Enhancement in L.A. if need be...
I wil probly get a set of GT2 wheels as a spare set
I will be having my turbo wheels painted black on the inside and the insert spokes white.
The same as the factory does for my new Cab 4S
Carrara white , Sea blue, white stitch everywhere with a dark blue top

well i wouldnt complain if 1 set out of 1000 would be good, but the ratio is much worse than that, id say at least 40% of all dymag wheels have some issues. i was also using dymag wheels for motorcycle races and even went with my motorcycle on a long tour to france and the next morning i saw a flat tire. i had my dealer to send me the original wheels to france by EXPRESS....what i am trying to say.. .i have heard alot alot alot of those cf wheel problems and i would never ever buy those wheels again. not only for the trouble i had... most of all because of security reasons... I just don't trust them...
Do you drive your car hard?
also there is a recall of sorts they are doing to their new wheel, changing the component structure, have you done this?
how long have oyu had them?
I ask because if i am to place them on a heavy expensive car I hope the dont cause damage and just break

This time it took only two weeks and I had them back two weeks ago... not too happy about this...
I will try to fix them all over the winter, Dymag has promised some updates on them.
Hi,
this is answer from Andy/ Dymag UK:
"Having researched the problem, which is entirely a Porsche rear wheel problem, our view is that the rear engine position and negative camber combined with heavy cornering loads on the race track causes the magnesium centre to flex a little allowing the joint to move just enough to cause air leakage. This only seems to happen in a small percentage of cases, but we have now revised the joint and replaced the magnesium centre with a new MagnAlium centre of the same design (see attached forr information about the material).
The new design has been thoroughly tested on road and track (SPA and Silverstone) in a race prepared GT3. The driver was instructed to push the car has hard as possible including curbs and I am pleased to report that he has completed almost ten thousand miles without any loss of pressure or problems with the wheels. Long term testing will continue but I am satisfied that the product is suitable. He is a professional racign driver and I doubt that anyone else will match the level of abuse that he has thrown at the wheels."
CONCLUSION: After having problems three times with my set and 7/10 my friends experiencing the same, most of us wanted to return the wheels to Dymag. This was very OK for them, but returning our money was more painful. It took over 6 months, ten's of phone calls/ emails to get a promised refund.
I really think this problem wit quality is a very big issue for them to handle in this kind of economic crisis. I hope they can survive without being the next victim.

any updates on the new "updated" wheels? I'm very curious to see if they're fix truly resolved the problems they were having. It's too bad because even if the problems were resolved, they were in such large numbers that a lot of people have been scared off. Still can't deny that the weight and looks of these wheels are amazing!
I had the "old" style and presently have the new style Dymags. I have had absolutely no air pressure problems from the rims. The customer service from Bill at Dymag-USA http://www.dymag-usa.com/ has been nothing but phenomenal. One thing to be specific about if ordering is the center caps. The old style Dymag rims did not accept Porsche center caps - only Dymag caps. The new ones are machined for Porsche caps so color can be mismatched upon installing the factory caps. Be sure to specify what caps you want the centers to be machined for.
