Laser diffuser wires...how to get into trunk

Just got one of these M25 laser diffusers with Cheetah remote. The remote elliminates going thru the firewall, but still need access to the front trunk of a '07 tt. One forum guy earlier said you could come up thru the lock platehole, but that looks like you would come across the water seal rubber of the deck lid which could allow water in. Anyone have success getting the two diffuser wires into the front trunk with out drilling a hole?? Sure would appreciate some ideas. thanks

Man, I gotta get me some of that. I just got a ticket going 60 in a 45 from a cop with a laser gun. By the time my V1 went off, it was too damn late . . .

Give us a review once you get it installed.

Good luck!

Before you buy look at the escort 9500ci. Haven't got lasered yet the radar is GREAT(and I have tried all the radar detectors and currently have a Valentine). THe other features of the ci are a real bonus. Since I spent a stint as a cop in my life I am going to get lasered soon and report back. As far as install is concerned, I went to pro--I am not that good with the mechanical stuff.

No good ideas surfaced, so to avoid tickets, thought I would challenge the task. First the transreceivers were mounted (the easy part), then I noticed through the grill a plastic pan stretching across the front of the car. Opened the trunk and pulled up the plastic panel around the door lock and noticed looking down thru the hole of the lock, the same black plastic pan. Using a 2 ft drill bit, passing down thru the lock hole, drilled two 3/8" diameter holes in the black splash pan. Through these holes are passed the two wires from the transceivers. These wires can then be brought into the trunk. i[ thru the area around the door lock, across the rubber seal or through any of the holes present for different wires or one can drill two new holes. The rest is easy (I hope). If one wants to remove the laser diffuser, the two holes in the splash pan can just be covered with black tape.

If you need to get thru the firewall and the 997 is similar to a 996 there is a way. When I worked on my old 996 I would find one of the larger rubber grommets on the firewall and run my wires along side the oem wires. You could also drill a small hole thru one of these various grommets, some are very thin.

That's where you're wrong. The 9500Ci _IS_ a laser jammer too. You're probably thinking of the 9500i which is just a detector.

A little word of advice, even if you have laser jammers, it doesn't mean you can run away from cops thinking that you've just beat them completely. As soon as the jammer alert goes off, you've got to slow down immediately. The jammers will "jam" the laser detectors once then shut down because in most cases, cops will go "huh? it didn't work, maybe it's a quirk" and then try again, this gives you a chance to slow down before they try reading your speed again. If the jammer were to continously jam then they'd know that something's wrong and then pull you over FOR SURE. Make sense?

thats correct the jammers ONLY give you time to correct your speed.. they do not make you invisible

I've actually done some testing with the Laser Interceptor jammer. I used two different laser guns, and I was completely unable to get a lock on the car, coming or going. As close to invisible as it gets

From what I've seen via RadarRoy, the Blinder M25 J15 is the best. I have used the M20 on my prev. M3 and it worked fine. For a porsche without an engine compartment up front, blinders are a just a bit more difficult to install. The wireless adaptor makes it easier. That is a lot of crap about impounding your car with a jammer. But instructions do tell you to turn them off when you get alerted. The are legal, from my understanding, because laser is used for so many other medical/engineering applications. The have a new one called laser mask out, but I don't think testing is as far along as the blinder. You got to have defuser in Florida, laser is getting as popular as radar and I have found from bad airplane-ticket experience that porsches are targeted whenever they are seen on the road, even tho the "do-gooders" say that is not true.

From what I've seen, the two best on the market right now are the Escort 9500Ci (replaced the Escort SRX) and the Laser Park Pro. Just over a year ago, we had a chance to test three systems, the Blinder, SRX and Laser Park Pro. The Blinder came in dead last with the Park and SRX about the same.
