Advice choosing 997TT
Hello board. I would really like to hear your opinions. I have been searching like mad for a 997TT.

I have stopped searching for a P in the states because the Canadian dollar is really weak. So please keep in mind these prices are in Canadian dollars.

With option 1, the only thing, it has a darn standard seat. I have asked the local dealership and they said they can change to a adaptative sport seat for 5-7K. So the total is still around 139K. That is an about 30K difference between used and new.

Any comments would be welcome.

Thank you

Option 2 doesn't have LSD or sports chrono? I'd pass on that.
If you need to switch the seats on option 2, you'll also have to make sure the new seats have deviated stitching as well. The problem with deviated stitching, is I always seem to find a vehicle with some parts missing...like the shift boot.

I am not sure about LSD. But according to the dealership sports chrono is standard on the 09. I check the Porsche Canada and sure enough, the selection is gone. He also mentioned the new 09 comes with the touch screen.
Does the 09 have direct fuel injection?
Sometime I just hate to buy a new car. I learn my lesson from my current M3.

No 997TT has direct injection. And, quite frankly, that is a good thing.
Porsche has already announced that the next generation GT2, GT3, and TT will use a brand new engine, with DI. Unfortunately, that means they are dropping the current engine for a cost savings of nearly $40K for Porsche.
Why is that important? The current engine is a extremely durable, bulletproof, tested race engine derived from the GT1 racing program. Most members here would not trade it for the new engine design which features a "integrated" dry sump system, rather than a true dry sump.

I have no doubt the new engine and remodeled 997TT will be superb. But for those of us who mod their cars, the current engine block is bulletproof...capable of handling >650 HP without a bottom end rebuild.

Option 640 - Sports Chrono is NOT standard for 2009 - at least in the US - and it is the one must-have option on the 997TT.
