Took my Switzer 997TT tip to the Dragstrip Today
May be I misunderstood something but he was taling about 0-60 ft times...did Sledgehammer had better 60ft them you car...his 0-60 times where at 2.65 I think...
congratulations BIG TIME! 10.66 for the first time at the track in your life just proves how these cars can be driven at that level with little or no practice. i agree that your car has a 10.3 - 10.4 run in it with some basic drag racing tips. your 997 tip is just nearly as fast from 0 - 60 as my sledgehammer. i had recorded several 2.5 sec 0 - 60 times on the drift box. i think with the new VTG turbos that tym wants to test, this car may just have a 10 flat in it. next time, take it to a private track rental event so you can get plenty of practice.

Thanks David.
I dont want to give anyone a false impression, launching the tip car hard does take practice, and I have a lot of it in this car. I may be a newbie at the strip, but I am an expert on driving/launching the car. I have recorded 0-60 in 2.4 seconds 4 times and 0-60 in 2.5 seconds another 3 times. My best 0-60 at the strip was 2.7 seconds, so I know there is lots of room for improvement. The problem at the strip is you are rushed and can't take your time. Also the car sitting around in lines for hours between runs hurt the most IMO. The only reason you think that the car has 10.3 in it is because of the results I have obtained with my Driftbox.
I would love to take my cars to a private track rental, that would be great. Unfortunately that's probably not going to happen anytime soon unless I want to drive 100s of miles or have my cars transported. I really dont see that happening as it's a massive hassle and expense. I have proven that the Driftbox is as accurate as the strip, so I will just continue to use that as a gauge for what the cars will do.
Cant wait to get my Sledgehammer back here and strap the Driftbox to it. Hopefully it performs as well as your beast!

actually it was because you mentioned you went 0 - 60 in 2.7 sec. as we are all well aware, a better launch would yield better ET's. as i understand, tym has made some slight changes in the turbos that are going on your sledgehammer which should yield better spool up times resulting in better even better 60-130 times. it should be a handful to say the least.

what about the tip, how does it handles all those hard launches? I have heard people braking their stock tip gearbox after hard launches, how does this one handle all that hp/torque?
Did you reinforced it?
Did you reinforced it?
...I'm sure it will be awesome ran
BTW....What intercoolers u r installing?
NO we did not touch the box...like someone said before no point to touch something if its not broken...as far as I know car is runing fine so far...Tips hold 700HP+ at the crank no problem...its only after 700whp it starts to slip...
