+1. Alpine's experience is what you will normally run into when dealing with an inexperienced shop. You need to know what you are looking for and your tuner needs to know how to get you there. I am running 450 front and 550 rear. That seems low by most standards, but with the way my JRZ's are valved, it is perfect. Anything above that I can adjust with my compression.

You also need to take into consideration the helper or tender springs used on the coilovers. Some setups like the PSS10 and KW V3's will use tender springs with separate spring rates in them.

Suspensions I think is the most difficult and confusing mod you can do. Again, I think the PSS10 is perfectly good for most of the driving needs.

do the PSS10's provide a compliant "normal" stret mode and a better sport mode than stock?

Thanks for all the relies guys...well my tuner can fine tune KW3 for my car...but I wont drive till I get it...plus road or Ohio msut be diff the Moscow...so I am starting to think that may be PSS10 would be a better choice in that case...we need KW 3 adjsutibility for my car to be able to handle all the power its going to make...still not sure what to do...is there something like KW 3 but with PSS10 easy to use function ))) ???

I can get PSS10 for 2k...think KW2 will be at least 1k extra...not sure if PSS10 will statisfy our needs...and not sure if KW 3 tha will be set upi in Ohio will work ok on our rought roads (((

Auto Talent/Speedplay,
Could you (or anyone) please explain the part about the "low speed"? I was not aware that you could separate low speed and high speed settings? What is the basic principle -- how is it possible if there is no speed sensor in the coilover? Thanks in advance. Or by speed here, you don't mean the car's speed but the rate of the change in the spring length (i.e. how fast the spring is being compressed)?

GT Rus,
On both KW and Bilstein, you could change to stiffer springs as needed. Within reasonable range of change, you will not have to change the valving AFAIK (call Bilstein or your tuner for advice).
Second, Bilstein has 2 versions of the coilover: One is called B16 Damptronic (PASM compatible - this is the one we all are using), the other is called B16 PSS10. The PSS10 is more similar to KW Variant 3, with 10 dampening settings "easily" adjustable by twisting a **** on the coilover itself. The rebound and compression are not independently adjustable like KW Variant 3, but between the 10 settings, I would think a non-pro driver should come close to finding a good setting. Like the KW Variant 3, the PSS10 is NOT PASM compatible.

The term PSS10 has been used erroneously by many, INCLUDING me. Here are the correct terms:

1. Bilstein B16 Damptronic. PASM Compatible. 2 settings adjusted by button inside car: Normal and Firm.
2. Bilstein B16 PSS10. Not PASM compatible. 10 settings adjusted by **** on the coilover itself.

To date I know of no one who has used number 2 for the 997 Turbo. All of us have used the Damptronic version as far as I could tell.

Seriously....get the Bilstein B16 Damptronics and be done with it. You've dragged this issue far too long.

I don't think 31 flavors would be enough choices for him.

I have KW HLS and Bilstein/TA coilovers and noticed that KW coils are thiner than TA so I think KW is softer and that is good for the street specially when the roads are bad but I think that for the track TA coilovers work better,I have to test the new KW susp in the truck before changing spring rate.
