997TT service intervals?

Hey guyz.... i recently took my car in to get some minor issues sorted out n the guy asked for my milage .... at the time it was 28k KM and was then asked whether my car was an 07 or 08 (mine is an 07) so i was told that my next service is due on 40k KM .... i picked up my car a week later and after driving it for a couple of days i get a message on the dash saying service due in 900 KM so i phoned them up n asked them y they said 40 when its due on 30
their reply was that 07 cars require servicing every 20k KM whereas 08s require them every 10k

I was just wondering as to why there is such a difference... arent the cars virtually the same ? (if not then shouldnt the 08 be more durable and require less servicing that the older version)

Hi,

i think the service interval will be the same. As i understand it, there is no difference from the 07 to 08 models.

I guess it depends on who you get on the day, which is unacceptable on a product like Porsche. Go back in and talk with the service manager, and if they guy you initially spoke with is wrong then voice your concerns.

I just did my 08 cars 10 000 km service which cost 1000 dhs.

Good luck.

Rgds.

i did my 1st service at around 22k KM .... this is supposed to be my 2nd service

i may have to pop back in sometime next week cos i have an unfinished issue with them (TPMS problem which they cant seem to figure out) so ill just mention that to the team leader there AGAIN.

I was just wondering at what intervals have other 07 owners been servicing their cars.

I assume from your 10k service khaosai, that for 08's it is true that they do it every 10.

Hi,

yeah i think you missed your 10 000 km service, but i could be wrong.

However, it seems strange that the car did not let you know a service was due. My reminder indication came on about 9500 km. Its in the documentation that you have in your car too, so have a look in the service booklet and all should be explained.

I seem to remember you having a boost problem, did you ever get it resolved ?.

I have been to the workshop a few times with TPMS issues. It seemed very problematic in the high temperatures in summer, but as its cool now its been fine.

The 2008 has its service intervals every 10 000 km.

Good luck.

Rgds.

What does your maintenance/warranty booklet say? Mine says 20000miles for oil change/inside filter, then at 40K for engine filter, inside filter and oil again. I have heard Porsche thought 20K for the 0-40 oil might be a bit long and was going to change it to 12K or so.

In that manual is given all the recommended maintenance items and intervals when they should be done. My 2007 is at 20K, 40K and 60K.

Hi Noah,

the conversion between UAE Dhs and USD is fixed at 3.67, so it works out at 273 USD.

My murano is more money for service it seems then my turbo. Seriously, and on top of that when I went in for a oil change I got the car back and the cd player wasnt working in which time I told them since them having the car and me getting it back it broke they told me it was coincidence. They want to charge me $500.

It is funny how often these "coincidences" happen. I have a gm car and everytime I take it in, within 1-2 weeks I get a "coincident" They are sly, and outrageous, but unless you have a nanny cam in your car, how do you prove it
