No need on a 997TT, the electronic awd is already at ~95% rw bias out of the box, unlike the 996tt/c4s viscous platform which is only about ~65% rw biased.
If you want something more than that, it's called a GT2. Since you're in sales at a p dealer, you should check it out.
Besides, it's a mod of little value anyway, testosterone levels have nothing to do with it.

i havent sold cars for nearly 18 months

the 996tt is 95% rwd also under normal driving

ive driven tons of 997tt's and they felt the same as my car when it was awd

i dont like the way awd porches feel

i thought there was a member on here with a rwd turbo

Steve, I think I remember somebody in Mexico had it done. To me it's one those mods that I have to ask why? Just seems like a lot of trouble for a small return IMO. Buy a GT3 if you want a light track car or step up to a GT2 for the real deal.

Agree. Why bother? Find a nice 996 GT2 if the awd cars suck so badly.

the problem with the 996 is that its probably the ugliest porsche ever built

i think my 996 turbo looks better dirty than it does clean, i love how it drives

but looking at it makes me want to punch myself in the eye

The 996 system is NOT 95% rw biased, not even close. That's the whole reason PAG designed a better electronic awd system for the 997tt.
Agree, just poney up for a gt2 if it sucks so bad.
You really otta try it on the track sometime, you'll find it's not as bad as you think it might be, there are very few cars(including gt3s) that can hang with a properly setup/driven tt on the track.
RWD conversion may not even be feasable on a 997TT anyway, given the cars pasm/awd based abs, psm, etc.

Plus the resale is bad enough on these cars, if you make it a franken-turbo it will be worth pennies on the dollar.

are you jokeing? you actually want to defeat the awd system in a newer turbo? they are right, you would have a car worth absolutely zero-why not just be happy with a carrera? by the way, it's prozac, not provacs.

Better? hmmm, what are you using to determine that? Seems to me that Porsches biggest aim was to make it drive more like a RWD car, but the general consensus is that the new AWD system is more finicky than anything. Everyone cant handle a rwd'ish 911 that wasnt designed as such.

But I agree, butchering a 100k car is at best. Not only that but the work it takes to make it handle properly afterwards as opposed to the hack jobs that most of the 996 TT guys are doing (and I've tried) is far too much unless you're going to dedicate the car to tracking, or street racing. Otherwise, serves no purpose.

Better in that it is more rw biased and less intrusive that the former 996tt setup.
I was hoping you would chime in, being experienced in the subject!
Please let the OP know about your experience with rwd conversions.
