Angry HELP!!! problem after tuning...

Hey guys,

I have recently installed a full exhaust system (Fabspeed - with headers) as well as a ECU reflash. Everything was running fine at the time 1.2 bar constantly in all gears.

2 days ago i installed the Fabspeed carbon intake system and i must say i do notice the power increase, responsiveness, and amaaazing sound the turbos make.

However i have been experiencing a problem since then when i go full throttle at low speeds with high gear engaged in manual mode (I.E getting the boost up to full boost on low rpms) once it hits full boost (1.2 and remains on it) for a 2 or 3 seconds i hear a sound as if the turbo is overspinning and then my exhaust starts popping feels like split second cut off keeps occurring. I have a feeling that this only occurs on the right side, however im unsure if that is in fact true.

With the car on and the engine compartment open i can hear a constant whiss sound from the right side are of the engine. and when i took it to the garage at initial audio visual inspection, the guy said there maybe an air leak somewhere which in turn is not getting enough air to the engine at high boost.

However i would also like to note that at WOT (having the right gear on - high rpm, full boost) i dont seem to get the cut offs or the popping, but at times i do feel that i get a noticeable extra "push" from the car once at the high rpm level (this doesnt always occur, but when it does i do feel the difference as it happens), it feels more like the engine was held back and got an extra rush of power all of a sudden.

I was wondering whether it may really be a leak, or that this has something to do with something else.

Has anyone experienced this problem before?

your input would really be appreciated, and my apologies for the long post.

Regards,

Thanx Chris,

Would you by any chance know whether that would be an intercooler related leak or air intake related leak?

is a whiss sound in engine bay somewhat normal for 997TT or is this usual and that its most definately caused by leak? because ive always had the assumption that it was normal, and never really looked into it and was never told by dealer at any point during the tens of time i took my car in, was told that there is a leak (ide expect bad service from them)

The ECU was done by the garage i used (they are authorised dealers and install shop for MTM and Kleeman in Dubai) and they used some ECU programming from germany.

They didnt have a program specifically for the intake, and i installed it post ECU and exhuast.

i was told by the garage that the germans r sayin that it may be from the intake and that i should reinstall the stock, but honestly the difference in power that im feeling, im not tempted to switch back to stock. i was told by a friend who had the same system on his previous car that this is normal and that it only happen on very low rpms with full boost and full throttle engaged, and once the rpm is within the proper range it goes back to normal.

I dont face the problem when the rpm is in the proper range.

should i be of any concern?

this not C grup car so everything should work like stock car.
maybe you should change some value in ecu for air flow meter.

Hate to bring back an old thread.

But over the weekend I was doing some pulls with 100 octane and started hearing this popping sound from the rear of the car. Almost sound like backfire from the exhaust, but not as loud. I think it might be coming from the right side most of the time. It doesn't always do it, usually if the car is under a lot of load(WOT with a high gear) and right around 4000rpm or so. The car is still just as fast and I did some datalogging, didn't find any misfire and the DME was still seeing 1.4-1.5 bars of boost. Any ideas?
