Don't forget Michelin...

but contact your dealer, they can tell you what brands are approved. In my experience all my new P-cars (first new purchase was in 1999) came with either Bridgestone or Michelins from the factory. My personal preference is Michelin so that is what I would request FWIW

Check the tire section of the forum...Damon at Tire Rack is very helpful.

Porsche ships the 997TT's with one of the following:
  • Bridgestone Potenza RE050A
  • Pirelli PZero Rosso
  • Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Tires must all carry the same "N" rating, i.e., N0, N1

These tires are also available with "N' ratings:
  • Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires
  • Winter 240 Sottozero Series II

I like the PS2's the best but have not tried the Michellin Cup tires yet. I also have the Sottozero's and they are fine winter tires and they are really the only winter tires available at this point in the season.

As others have suggested, check with Damon @ TireRack.

The Sottozeros are great for the winter, car drives better than a range rover, just watch out for the ground clearance

I wouldnt recommend Michelin cups unless you plan to track the car.

For non-track use I'd go with the PS2s, I'm partial to Michelin.

I am running Pzero's on the turbo. Maybe it is my imagination, but they seem quieter than the PS2 which I had on the C4S. Anyway, very happy with the Pzero.

How many miles have you on your Pzero's ?. At around 9K and when it got cold here (not sure if its related) - my interior noise level has suddenly gone up. They were quiet up until 9K - seemed to have happened over-night.

Its especially noisy over 80mph. I have pzero rosso's.
