warning lights

How far in tuning can you without having to worry about warning lights? I drove EVT700 while ago and was like a christmas tree in the dashboard.

I'm hoping to some less serious tuning than EVT700 and do not want to see those warning lights come on. (my current Hummer has the same thing going on with warning lights as it is tuned to nearly 600 horses).

No traction control light, maybe a little ;-)

BUT, it was the engine light that was constantly on. I'm just wondering if any of the particular pieces cause warning lights to come on? Like headers, exhaust system, software etc etc?

It maybe caused by the cats used in the exhaust system.

The 997tt is way more picky about what cats you run.

Im sure today a few evo700 guys will chime in here, the kit is quite a complete unit, well tested etc. and from what I have seen CEL free.

Without knowing the exact CEL cause by running a scan tool its premature to assume its the kit, hell, could be a lose gas cap.

But CEL's are not uncommon on 08 models when it comes to exhaust changes so its a good place to start.

I know what your talking about, I got a ride in a tuner demo 997TT and witnessed a similar light show. I did not even ask.

I got EVT700.No problem with 200cell exhaust at all. After I cut the cars off and replace with straight pipe the CEL came on,then I bought a pair of o2 sensor adaptors from EBAY then it gone.Never came back before I get the ECU tuned again for cat-less.No other warning lights so far..
