Stupid Question(sorry)
This morning while driving to work I ran over something on the freeway that sounded horrible.I thought for sure I got a flat tire and cracked my rim but when I got out of the car everything seemed fine.I might be paranoid know but it seems that when I brake and take my hands of the steering wheel the steering wheel kind of shimmeys. Also when I am driving at arond 40 mph and take my hands of the steering wheel it kind of moves back and forth. Is this normal or when I ran over something could have done something?
wheel/tire will need balancing if a weight popped off and if you hit hard enough you probably need an alignment. Probably no need to worry, but if you do these two things and still have an actual shimmy then look further.

Your rim is most likely bent and see if a bubble appears on your sidewall, means u tore the tire from the inside and need a new one....But from what u said 99% bent rim

Get the car on a lift and compare what you see on one side to what you see on the other.
When you are driving lets say 40 mph and you remove your hands from the steering wheel on a flat street should there be any movement of the steering wheel.Mine definetly has some movement but when I drive my wifes Mercedes is seems pretty still. If I take it to the dealer what should I complain about?Bent wheel or bad alignment?
If you have someone else debug the problem, then it's likely that they will check the alignment and then pull the rims off and test them for roundness. Actually, it could also be wheel bearings, depending on how much mileage they have.
If you debug it yourself, it's easier to do a visual inspection -- checking the alignment is quite difficult without proper tools, ditto rim-roundness. Start with the obvious and then escalate from there.
There are machines the straighten bent rims...I know of a couple places that do it and fix the rim perfectly for 110 bucks
Just took it to the dealer and I have 2 bent rims. They want to replace the 2 rims and tires and something in the steering that Porsche says should be replaced when you run over something like I did.The cost will be 4000 to 5000 dollars but I am trying to run it thru my insurance minus my 400 deductible...
