just got my exhaust installed and now....

07 997tt wht/blk powder coat rims blk, k40 radar, clear bra

previously had the software done i went with evomsit. wow let me tell you the best choice i made getting the car done. it was animal like was loving it got the mod bug. so i decided to get the exhaust put on iwent with tubi and techart blk tips... now picked up the car and noticed something diff as if the car had no power... then after about an hour of driving the cel light came on..no boost pressure not like it was previously... so went put the scanner on the car and this is what came up p-2279 (air intake leak) so i looked under the car checked the hoses and nothing was detached. any ideas what could cause this and could it be a an upper intercooler hose loose or something to that affect???? any info from my board members would be great since i do all my tech and info research here.. have the car getting the next mods in store: brv valves, intake, and reflash this week... after i correct this problem.. thanks guys for taking the time to read this..

Check the hoses leading to and from the intercoolers. It's unfortunately slightly common for them to come loose during spirited driving sessions, especially on chipped cars. I'd be willing to bet that's your culprit.

Sounds like a loose boost hose, make sure the clamp is tight.

Perhaps the intercooler hoses were not clipped in all the way. The tech could have removed these during your exhaust installation and not set them back in position correctly.

Did the find the source of the problem?

IC hose clips

Is there a certain way those IC clips go on(ones for the top of the hose going to the y-pipe)? I tried every which way and couldn't quite figure them out. The bottom ones snapped back on with no issues. I took off my ICs today and after re-install and a spirited drive, I now I hear a rather loud whooshing sound. Got a good feeling it's the top IC hose that connects to the Y-pipe that popped off or are loose.

any pics?

thanks.

u have to push it until it can't go further, then u can slide the clip in. try tugging the hose back to see if its in or not. shouldn't be too hard... however i know when i have a hose that is not fit properly cuz my car shuts at low idle...

I just had something similar happen...

About an hour ago I was driving and tried to accelerate rigorously. The car instantly lost power and CEL started flashing. In a few seconds it stopped flashing and went solid. Now there is a reminder to visit the workshop. Sounds like a popped hose?

I only have 130 miles on it...

That's why I don't take off the bumpers/ICs during an exhaust install, when you add variables you create complications, jmo.
Sounds like the IC hose, you have to be very careful with those fittings, very easy to misalign them and creat a leak.
Neil, as we discussd, I'm sure you have a leak in the system somewhere; IC, primary 02 sensor, etc to create that 'whoosh' sound, only a couple of things will do that.

You might also want to check the connection between the Throttle body and Y-pipe. I've seen those under come off due to the fact they arent completely fitted around the TB or tighten properly.

I was busier than a one-legged man in an ***-kickin' contest today.

Both Cooler hoses going to the Y-pipe were loose. Just fixed them today. Prior, the car acted very ill. Would stall, idle inconsistently, die, and hesitate like a rookie in a ***** house. It would throw a CEL code of P1095 (O2 sensor bad, bank 1, sensor 1, switching from rich to lean...). The issue was not the O2 sensors at all. Took it to the stealer yesterday, hooked it up to the PIWIS and they couldn't sleuth the issue. They were perplexed...saying that it was the MAF sensor or that I needed a new ECU. They also didn't take off the bumper.

Stealer wanted to keep it over the weekend and I declined. Took it home and took off both ICs. Disconnected the hoses from the Y-pipe. Put the clips on first then pushed the hoses into the coolers until you hear them 'click' into place. Replaced the coolers then re-connected the hoses to the Y-pipe and put everything back.

Started the car and voila! The Tubi's were singing Bethoven's 5th with Beyonce as back up....aaahh, such sweet music to my ears. Pure bliss I must say.

Took the car for a quick drive and got on her. No more poor idle, no more hesitation, and all boost was back! Back in business and no more loud 'whooshing' sound.

here's what I saw as soon as I took off the bumper. This will cause all kinds of problems.

Is taking off the bumper a diy kind of thing or do you have special skills? i.e. are you a mechanic or something, not superman.
