997TT with PDK and Proper paddles are COMING!!
i happened to stop into a porsche dealership while in London. the sales manager there told me that the TT PDK has been confirmed to arrive in September. Cant waiI hope it is around the same time in the USA as well
My guess too, is that it weigh twice as much then anyone would want in a TT..
I don't see why Porsche would make an announcement like that. If there are tip cars sitting on the lot and you know that the PDK is going to hit the showroom who would buy one?
You are right, they would have to give huge discounts to tip cars at Porsche's expense. However may be more affordable for some as well.
Their losses from discounting TipS equipped car will be offset by the money saved with the new engine replacement.
I wouldn't mind taking a dump on old ho chi's grave myself....back to topic.
I think your dealer is jerking your chain. no dealer has that info yet, I'm sure.

The 997.2 turbo is coming, i was told from my Porsche dealer that they will have it this year October-November. This model will be well above 500hp, convertible and turbo S will be available summer 2010. Yes the new turbo gets the PDK.
The only reason that they didn't put the PDK on the GT3 is because of some track-racing regulations. I believe GT3 and GT2 will still be manual in the future.

I recommend you try it, and if you have tried it, try it again.
