Scratched my rim

I scratched about 2 inches of chrome off my front rim. Other than that there is no damage to the rim...Is this something that can be repaired, or does it need to be replaced?

Should be able to get it repaired. Most high end dealerships have someone they can recommend to fix this. I have someone on speed dial to fix my wifes wheels due to her frequent curbing. I have been very pleased with the results. Good luck.

This looks repairable. Some of the pros out there can really work magic on most damage...this doesn't look too bad.

^^^I totally agree...looks very repairable. call your dealer for a recommendation. Plus I think there is a board sponsor that does this stuff...but I can't recall their name off hand...wheel enhancement maybe?

By the way, I know how much this hits you in the gut! I smacked up my brand new HREs with less than 20 miles on them! Man was I bummed. But I sent the rim back and all is well in the world again.

I've used a company called Wheels America (www dot wheelsamerica dot com)...they did a very very good job repairing my BBS rims on my previous car.

Thanks for the information...Where you at in Wisconsin? I don't remember seeing many Turbo's in my 30 years living there.

Looks like it has a flat spot in it as well. I can replace the barrel on the wheel for you if needed. The Maya is a welded barrel so it does require replacing of both the inner and outer at the same time.

Peter,

I was going to have the outer lip replaced until someone told me that the chrome may just need to be fixed. Can you do a cosmetic fix on this or do you only sell replacements? What part of Dallas are you on?

I just had one of mine wheels repaired. It had some light curbing on a black lip. Look like it was never touched.. I'm not sure if they can do anything with chrome plated wheels without have to pull apart and rechrome..
