max speed in each gear - 997tt
I've looked online at all the carmag sites but can't find out what the top speed is in each gear for the 997turbo - anyone know? Mainly interested in knowing for the first 3 gears. I assume 60mph can be reached in 2nd gear.
Just drove one for the first time 2 days ago. Kept on bouncing off the rev limiter in first gear, lol.

Huh?
I didn't mean to sound snarky in my previous post so apologies if it came across that way. I'm looking to purchase a 997tt and was just wondering about top speed in each gear. I don't have my old car mags that had the info and the online reviews don't mention it.
thanks to anyone that can provide the info.

Speaking of revs, the dealer I went to had a nice looking black 997tt with Tubi exhaust etc... The dealership was considering purchasing the car to resell it.
The salesman just emailed me to say that the car had some "range 3 and 4 over-revs"
and they wouldn't be buying it. He explained that this means that the owner downshifted too soon perhaps over-revving into the 9000rpm range. It's surprising the info that can be gleaned about a car by a dealer. Who knows what else is in there? Lol, as long as it doesn't record the number of times the speed limit has been exceeded so that the cops can't use your own car against you.

i don't doubt what TWTurbo is saying at all, Porsche has always been known for there conservative performance numbers, and also each engine is hand built, so there are bound to be some varience in performance numbers. Good luck with your turbo!
