Full TechArt & RSS Suspension Overhaul on Stage II 997TT Cab
This 2009 997TT SharkWerks project Cab already has the Stage II power kit and some P43 wheels on it but for her third act she came in for a full suspension over-haul. This included the TechArt PASM Coil Over kit along with the TechArt noselift set up to make it easier to get in and out of those steep entrance/exits. Also on-tap was a set of the RSS front and rear sway bars, drop links, Toe-Steer Kit and Adjustable rear links. Darth Vader in cab-form?
In go the rear TechArt PASM coil overs:

In go the front coil overs:

Along with the RSS drop link kit and adjustable front sway bar:

For the front the battery tray is replaced with the TechArt unit sporting the hydraulic pump controller.

Factory rear links installed and ready to come off:

In go the solid RSS links and the adjustable rear sway bar:

Here's the noselift in action in the "UP" position:

And then in the "DOWN" position:

Here's the video as well:

She sits a little bit lower after driving in the down position (I think I took this pic immediately after pressing the button). And looks nicer with the top down.
It's a great car to drive, probably my favorite 997TT.

Hi Alex/Dan,
Very nice work as always & thanks for sharing.
What's your opinion of the upper control arms/dog bones on a street car please, as far as plus versus minuses?
1. How much NVH does it bring? vs.
2. Noticeable & significant improvement?
I plan to add the rear toe control arm, but am still debating re. the dog bones. Some have said it's overkill for street car? TIA

Danke!
She's a beautiful creature inside and out. The Socal groups misses being down the block from you guys, tho we still see plenty of P-cars down here with Sharky stickers on their windows!

Cheers Casey...
They're made for TechArt by Bilstein and have a different spring rate and valving. To be honest I find them to be more compliant than the Bilstein version itself for these cars and for a few hundred bucks extra- well worth it. Consider it like custom-valving if you will...

Hey Can, thanks for the kind words and the _two_ that I would do would indeed be the Toe Steer and even the Dog Bones. Neither create much noise to be honest- although the dog bones could theoretically wear out quicker on the street than say a factory one. The noise (very little if that) comes from the monoballs.

Would you please explain what you meant by "wear out"?
1. Does the link on the arm break eventually or something like that?
2. Any harm or danger to the car when that happens?
3. How do we know when to replace before they "wear out"?
4. Does this mean even the factory ones eventually need replacement? If so, how many miles?
Thanks so much.

Ok so more things for me to do. Alex of Sharkwerks = such a great resource = such "BAAAADDD" influence!

Evil!1) No that doesn't break I just mean the "bushing/insert". As you know metal on metal... that sort of stuff is usually designed for race/track level apps where the surface is flat. Not exactly like California roads

2) No no danger or anything like that and the "ends" are easily replaced. You can basically get the car up in the air and see if the wheel has any play. To give you some perspective I haven't yet put this stuff on my RS (I know! Slow...) but the front wheel can be pulled in/out and has some play/movement so there's some "wear" for sure.
3) See above... The PDK car has about 6K miles on it and so far so good. I know the RSS car has even more as do a bunch of customer cars. Usually I wasn't accustomed to these parts lasting that long on the roads. My previous set manufactured by another company lasted about 3K. They still work it's just that you'll get more noise etc...
4) The factory ones have a lot more neoprene/rubber and being softer they last longer. But the car isn't as settled in the turns sadly
Hi there the answer is yes to both and we have them in stock too.
