I dont have a 997TT (yet) but have driven all 3 of my Porsches through the winters here in Philly and have been fine. As long as you know what your doing and respect the road you should be more than fine. Only comparison i have a TT in the snow was my Mitsu Evo on snow tires (AWD + turbo + manual trans = FUN!)

out in the snow yesterday without an issue, actually had fun trying to see what it would do

with the pirelli snows it was great...certainly the 19s look better...mine are on the stocks, BBS for summer

I was flying in Lubbock in 01 when they had a big snowstorm. A few of us from Minnesota were driving around just to watch the accidents when we realized one of these idiots were going to run into us. For over an hour we were never out of sight of an accident.

I was out in my car yesterday in Boston, and those 20 inch rims are horrible on the snow! my car was going sideways on the slightest turns...was fun though!!

Those are my winter tires. They are great. I have heard the Nokians are possibly better, but you can't find them (or at least could not last year).

I used these last winter and have them on my car this winter again, obviously worse performance than summer or all season tires in good weather, but in the snow they are fantastic.

Drove on them last winter through all snow we had with no issues, and setup a mock auto-x at Floyd Bennett Field to practice drifting, lotta fun. Great snow tires.

Kip,

I have 18" wheels with Michelin Snows on my '09 turbo, so they obviously fit fine.

Sizes:
F: 18x8; 235/40/18
R: 18x10; 265/40/18

i guess it can do it, i wouldn't recommend it though....
