Mine won't even be driven in the rain, can't imagine snow! I have heard that they do just fine. I have seen many around my area with a few inches of snow and they go just fine, just don't punch it in sport mode LOL. Good luck and enjoy

The car is great in the snow if you know how to drive well in inclement weather. Don't be one of these homo-erotic garage queens that refuse to drive the car in rain/snow. It's a car, not a trophy... It's mean to be driven.

I use 19" snows(contis) on my stock rims, works great in the winter. Best all around car I've ever had, 43k and counting!

Oh, Doc. For the love of...it's a 997TT, not a donk. They're wheels, not rims

Just make sure the car isn't too low or it'll be a $130,000 snow plow. If I could drive a 500hp RWD car (M5) in the NY winters, you can drive an AWD P-car with proper tires.

Currently the conti winter tires, but I had the pirelli's before and they were much better. There are several companies making snown/N rated/19s for the turbo now.

I also never store cars in winter. Loved driving the M5 with 18" snow tires - very predictable. Will also be getting 18" snows for the TT in a few months. I can't imagine this car being worse than the M5 in the snow.

Actually, I am looking forward to the cold season.

Check this out, even BBS calls them rims:

I run Pirelli Sottozero 240s on stock wheels with 295s in the rear versus 305s. They're exceptional. Car is a blast in winter....it gulps the cold air. As mentioned earlier in this thread, these cars are meant to be used...23k and almost 30 track days in 19 months!

There's winter...and then there is WINTER.

My sister in Seattle complains when the temperature falls to 35. 35's a heat wave in Wisconsin.

If you use common sense, the 997TT is a fantastic winter car. If the snow is deep, and your suspension is lowered, and the street isn't plowed, AWD won't save you when your front radiator is caked with snow in the first 50 feet. Likewise, no snow tire is going to save you if you try and defeat the laws of physics when you drive...you still have an engine in the rear and the car will spin if you make it.

I used my 996TT and now 997TT in winter all the time. It's fun to drive, as long as you use common sense.
