I have a V1 and have upgraded each time Valentine has one. My 9500i cannot match the V1. In fact it is inferior by long distances. However, this new redline is something else.

I keep my V1 on the right visor and now the redline on the left side of dash. Unbeliveable, but by a fairly large margin out does the V1 in Ka and X and by a somewhat smaller margin the K band. I went back thru the alerts and tried again with each unit off to be sure no interference; there was none. Luckily coppers sit in their cars after tickets for 15 minutes or so. Still don't know about the laser, but it wouldn't surprise me there if the redline was better. Laser, however, is no concern with my M25.

Does the redline have a laser detector or laser jammer?

 

My custom installed escort is as good as the V1 or better. The normal setting on my escort is Auto. If you wanted to compare both units you would need to put the excort on highway mode to get a true comparison. My preference is custom installed units. I installed an escort on my 997 turbo and a F430 ferrari and plan on installing one in my Audi q7. Custom Sounds in San Antonio Texas does an awesome install job.

 

My 9500ci is superb. Now if there was just something that would make all instant on radar guns self destruct, I'd be invincible.

 

my IX out performs the V1 hands down. I did a month long side by side and the V1 was sold after a decade of use. Good news is the V1 holds its value, I got a a good price for it.

 

What is the IX? I am in the market for a radar detector am and curious what ones are top on the list?

Plus the database is always updating from Escort, so I am always protected from red light cameras

 

I have not seen radar used in ages, always laser guns, around me anyways. I think its nuts they keep adding minor improvements over the last 8+ years as an excuse to raise the price of the detectors. In testing I found near zero difference between my 8500 and V1 in the streets of OC and LA.

 

9500ix for me. Did a long comparison between this and the V1. V1 just had too many false alerts IMO. It's now a quiet radar detector.
