Thanks for the comments Can, In the april issue of Excellence, David Murry(grand am driver) drives our 775B car around VIR and has some very interesting insight about our car and 997 Turbos in general... Keep an eye on your news stand! Also keep in mind that our Stage 3+ Damp HR coilovers arent designed for only racing... They are PASM shocks so they are the best of both worlds... We believe they are the best non-race option available and they can be daily driven(as our car is)

The suspension work done by TPC is by far the most extensive I've seen for our 997 Turbo. This is the only vendor I know that has bought a Turbo, kept it, tuned it with special components fabricated for it (sway bar, re-valved and re-springed Bilstein, re-programmed PASM -- first I've ever heard of, etc.).
(Another vendor did somethig similar but unfortunately used lowering spring, not Moton, and not tuned Bilstein.)

There is no question that if I am in the area and especially if I track my car, TPC Turbo is the first car I would test drive and very likely the vendor I would pick to tune my car.
Not too mention that Casey is a real helpful guy on top of that! Good organization.

I run 245/35/18 front and 315/30/18 rear Hoosiers. Those give the correct tire diameter ratios as the stock 19" rubber.

Since your car has PCCB, the only 18" wheels you will be able to run are CCW. If you call CCW they can make you the perfect offset 18" wheels for your car for ~$3k.
After my first DE this past weekend I have decided I need to make some improvements to the car.

Thanks to eclou and several others I have ordered the B16-PSS10.

If anyone has any 18" wheels (8.5-9 ET56 and 11-12 ET51) they are looking to unload send me an email at barryd@mindspring.com. If nothing appears over the next couple of weeks I'll just order some CCW wheels.

Thanks and happy holidays to all.

If you don't have PCCB some very economical options for perfect offset 18" wheels are

996tt hollow spokes ~$1k on ebay
997.1 C4 carrera III wheels ~ $1.5k ebay
OZ Alleggerita 18x 8.5/12 $1600 new Tire Rack

I have run both the Carrera III's and 996tt hollows with no issues. Had the OZ's been available a couple of years ago I would have probably bought 3 fronts and 3 rears.

First, I do have PCCB and that limits my choices.

I love the OZ Alleggerita wheels, especially in orange, but it doesn't look they will fit according to the OZ website. I probably should give TireRack a call to verify.

Thanks.

Our custom tuned Bilstein PSS10 coilovers for PASM equipped vehicles are truely remarkable. While in street mode, these shocks will provide a slightly firmer ride than standard PSS10s however, you will immediately notice an improvment in performance and feedback from the vehicle.

However, in Sport Mode, these shocks become very close to a JRZ in terms of performance. You will be able to take SECONDS off of your laps times with an upgrade to our custom tuned Bilsteins. Even if you currently have Bilsteins for your PASM equipped vehicle, we can still upgrade your shocks. Even if you have Bilsteins already, by retuning them, you will still find 2+ seconds per lap.

This upgrade is absolutely perfect for those who don't want to give up their PASM, but do want more high performance handling capabilities out of their vehicle. If you still have questions about the performance of these shocks, wait for the next Excellence Magazine to come out, and read about our participation in the 997Turbo Shootout.

The reason I ask is on my 7Gt2 I have a set of DA Bilstein Race shocks dialed in with some very high spring rates and as much as it is perfect at high speed and handling at the track or on super smooth roads it can be painfull in the city, so my thinking was to have a set of PASM B16's copy the valving of my Race DA Bilstein in sport mode and then make the normal mode as mild as can be for daily driving.
Could this be done?

A member use the OZ's as a winter set:

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...18-wheels.html

But he has standard brakes. If you are really interested in a track setup, and the 18" is the smartest move, there should be plenty of members willing to: standard brakes + cash = PCCB. For the ultimate braking system, buy the brembo upgrade rotors and pagid pads, and nothing will beat that combo.

Casey, I have spoken to Josh and Mike about doing the stage 3+ upgrade and am near pulling the trigger. I assume when you say you have five sets of OZ whells in the shop, they are for re-sale so maybe we can work them in to a package deal??? I have gotten lot's of good feedback from this forum on my original question about track upgrades and am excited to see the performence improvements.

casey, thanks for response. Maybe you could help me with the exact specs ( size, offset, anything else for 18" ) and I'll shop around? Also, I plan on buying from TPC, but having local shop ( EPWerks in Indianapolis ) do the install. Ian Bass owns it and is very familiar with TPC and recently spoke to Mike Levitas so I'm sure he will do a great job. He's a good guy and I like him working on my car plus he's local.

After much reading and research I have finally pulled the trigger. Casey, you and the TPC team along with Ian Bass will be building and putting in the Stage 3+ suspension upgrade in my car as soon as practical...but need everything done by third week in February. I am totally jazzed at seeing how the car will perform. I appreciate everyone's input and advise in this thread. Casey you should get a call from Ian tomorrow.
