There are problems though, such as with a bluetooth earpiece. you'll find it ends up in the back seat a lot. Not kidding.

Enjoy and share you thoughts as well as your data
If you could describe your personal experience uploading software
I have seen youtube video it looks simple but lets see what happens in real life
Did you look at FVD as an option?
I think I am getting a nice Christmas present !! but need to wait until spring now to drive it..

The initial downloading/memory read out took 20 - 25 minutes. I downloaded & transmitted the file at about 11pm and got the tune file back at 6:30pm the next day. The upload process was simple, only took ~5 minutes, maybe less.

You need to make sure the laptop has good wifi reception and has the ".net framework" software installed first. I disabled firewall, virus software, screensaver, etc. You definitely need to follow the instructions but they're not very complicated.

Holy ****! Absolutely amazing. I just completed the Softronic tune and my car is a rocket. The car has vision blurring acceleration now, its incredible. Came home real quick to have a bite to eat then I am headed back out to play around . I will give my full experience (a great one) in the morning once I put on a few miles.

Ordered SOFTRONIC ECU :)

Well, all I can say is WOW! I understand now why most people say "I wish I would have flashed my car sooner". There is so much power hidden in these 997 TT's it is absolutely amazing.

So now for my experience with the installation of the Softronic ECU tune. First of all, I was hesitant to take my back seat area apart and ship the ECU out to a vender, I just felt like I was messing up my car and I never felt comfortable with it. When Softronic released there new flash through the OBD II port for the 997 TT I was very interested as long as the performance was strong of course. After doing a lot of research and talking to other fellow 6 speeders I made the move. After I placed my order I received the Softronic cable in the mail. After I received the cable I contacted Vivid Racing and spoke to Dan, who by the way is a very competent and knowledgeable person when it comes to these cars. I was still a little afraid of the process and trust me, I am not a computer guy by any stretch. Dan basically walked me through each step and over the phone I was able to do the tune, it was very easy. At about 1pm yesterday I hooked up a battery charger (recommended) to assure that my battery did not go low or die during the reading process of the tune. I then hooked up my laptop computer and used a wireless connection and hooked up the Softronic cable to the OBD II port in my car and hooked up the USB port in the side of my laptop. I then turned my key to the "ON" position and went step by step through the menus so Softronic could read and retrive my stock file. This process takes only 20-30 minutes tops. At the end of the program it asks for any mods, I explained that I had a TUBI exhaust, headers, and a drop in B+M air filter so the tune would be the best possible tune for my car. I also added that my car is a 6 speed and that I would be running 93 octane pump gas. After finishing the menus I logged out and disconnected my laptop and charger. I went back to work and then received an email from Softronic at 6pm. I called Dan back again and he walked me through the finishing steps and load of the new ECU Softronic tune. After hooking everything back up the program took 5 minutes and Bam, its done.

I drove the car and once I got out of my neighborhood I punched it in sport mode and basically scared the **** out of myself. I hit 17psi almost immediately and the car felt like a rocket. The car feels more alive now. It was not slow by any stretch of the imagination stock but it seems smoother and healthier across the entire powerband. Keep in mind to that with my TUBI and headers and filter without the ECU I was probably at about 510 HP give or take. The exhaust and headers alone do not change the car much, just the sound which is why I purchased it early on (to me the stock exhaust note is very muted and boring) . After installing the ECU all the mods come together. I should be around 600HP now which is a huge jump from before, I can feel the difference if anyone is on the fence about this tune, DO IT! The price is under 2k right now and I love the tune, Dan is there to help as well, its too easy.....

Glad to hear it worked out well, these tunes make such a huge difference it's almost ridiculous. Can't wait to choose one myself, I can't seem to make up my mind.
