997TT reliability?
Skandalis it sounds like you are unsure of your front diff condition? Mine is a long story and am happy to tell you but if you have any concern with your car PM me and i will give you all the gory details and inform you all the symptoms you should look out for
. I have unfortunately become a bit of a front diff expert now but I dont want to go too far off topic on the OP's thread ok.

Took the car to its first track day at LRP. Third session of the day the car started making noise in rear, loaded on left side going into long right hander after the bridge. Last run of the day had to pit early as the noise was getting quite loud. From everything I and few other could tell, the rear left wheel bearing is going. The car is has 10.5K miles, first track day. A bit early for a wheel bearing to go, imho . . .
The car is at the dealer now, having it fixed before my warranty expires at the end of June. I have to now seriously consider buy third-party warranty, although my indy is talking me out of it, saying that in his experience the 996/997 TT are quite reliable. Not sure what to do now

Lexart ,
Think of it this way , they may be reliable cars without a doubt.. but at the end of the day its a high performance supercar with high performance parts that when they brake.. cost a high performance price to fix
. So although it may not brake often .. when it does brake i bet you will be glad you bought the warranty . I wish everyone on this forum more health and success . The fact that you guys have got to the position in life to be able to afford a true beast like this makes it seem possible for myself to own one , one day.

These are by far the most reliable super cars i have EVER seen PERIOD. As someone else said. Figure out color combo and go head first.
Be warned though this will ruin a lot of other cars in the future for you.....especially after you mod it

It is simple to get rid of any evidence of Over-Revs on these cars. One is to use a chip, and then replace with another ECU when you sell the car. They can also be erased through the port.
Having owned 4 of these cars (2 TipS and 2 manuals), I have never had any problems.

Most knowledgeable buyers looking for a used 911 owners will walk away from a car with a cloned ECU.
